There will be a community garage sale on March 24, 2012 with rain date of March 31, 2012. Signs will be posted at the entrances to the subdivision. Please put out your individual signs to show where your sale will be. Also please remove your signs after the event to help keep the neighborhood looking good. The Black and Boggs household at 3057 High Plains Drive were the winners for January Yard of the Month. The sign is placed in the yard for a month and the winner receives a gift card in appreciation for keeping their yard in great shape.

CLUBHOUSE RENTALS
Rentals are done by contacting Pat Hillen at 281-578-6881. Fees are $75 for a 12:00 PM – 5:00 PM event and $150 for a 12:00 PM – 10:00 PM event on a first come, first served basis. The security deposit is $300. The clubhouse holds 98 people, has 4 six foot tables, 4 eight foot tables and 48 chairs. It has been freshly repainted, so please remember to take care when renting the clubhouse. Hand soap, hand towels, toilet paper and a trash can liner for each trashcan is provided. The clubhouse has a kitchen with refrigerator, stove and microwave oven, men’s and women’s restroom with a diaper changing table. Resident must be current on all dues to rent the clubhouse. Resident must be present at clubhouse at all times during their event. No alcohol of any type is allowed in the clubhouse. NO EXCEPTIONS!!!!

Residents, “NO TRESPASSING” “DANGER KEEP OUT” These signs are there for a reason, please obey! No one is to be in or around the detention pond playing, riding their bikes or motorized vehicle, climbing or crawling in the pipes this is very dangerous. No trash or clippings of trees and grass is to be dumped in the pond. Any injury sustained while playing in or around the detention pond will be the responsibility of the parent. Anyone being in or throwing trash in the detention pond will be charged with Criminal Trespassing subject to a fine or jail by the Sheriff. These ponds are to help our subdivision in rain and flood. The detention ponds will hopefully help our homes from being flooded.

Trash pickup days are Tuesday and Friday every week. We would like to remind all of our subdivision residents that your trash (cans) should only be visible on these days. Trash left out for days has a tendency to be blown all over the neighborhood and can be a real eyesore. Thank you for helping keep our neighborhood clean.

We love our community and so should you! Besides being a nuisance, uncollected dog waste is a serious problem for our Association. Next time you’re tempted to leave your dog’s droppings on the lawn, please remember these facts: • The Environmental Protection Agency is becoming aggressive about enforcing the Clean Water Act. Our Association could be fined if dog waste goes uncollected. • Uncollected dog waste may lead to a special assessment. If fined by the EPA, the Association could face a potential special assessment that would be levied against all members - not just dog owners. • The appearance and quality of the common areas are known to affect home sales - not just for how much they sell, but how quickly. • The more residents complain about dog waste, the more time the manager must spend on enforcement rather than serving the Association. • Uncollected dog waste spreads disease and attracts rodents who feed on pet waste. We love dogs - we really do. That’s why the association is committed to enforcing the county leash law on association property. According to the U.S. Humane Society, an unleashed dog has an average life span of less than four years. Allowing your dog to run free threatens your dog’s health and welfare and the happiness it brings to you.

DIRECTIONS: In a medium bowl, whisk together the gelatin and boiling water until dissolved. Refrigerate until thickened to the consistency of egg whites, about 1 hour. When the gelatin is thick, whip the evaporated milk in a chilled bowl with chilled beaters until thick enough to form peaks like whipped cream. Fold the whipped milk into the gelatin. Rinse an 8 cup mold and fill with the gelatin mixture. Cover and refrigerate overnight, or at least until set, about 4 hours.

DIRECTIONS: In a medium bowl, fold sour cream and unprepared pudding mix into the whipped topping. Cut the cake into thirds, horizontally. Line a large trifle or other glass serving bowl with kiwi and strawberry slices, reserving two whole strawberries and two kiwi slices. Place one layer of cake in bottom of bowl, top with 1/3 of bananas and pineapple, and 1/3 of whipped topping mixture. Repeat layering until all ingredients are used.

Registration for Fun, Fair, Positive Soccer (FFPS) is now open for boys and girls ages 4 to 18 for the fall season. Games start on April 7, 2012. FFPS is a non-profit youth soccer program dedicated to providing a positive youth sports experience for all children. Founded in 1986 in Katy, Texas, FFPS has grown to 22 leagues and 16,000 players throughout the Greater Houston area. FFPS offers children a fun and fair experience, including one practice per week, a full uniform and trophy for every player, equal playing time, opportunities to play every position, co-ed/balanced teams, positive coaching and more. No tryouts are required. Registration schedule and fees: Through March 5th: $90 Online March 6th – 19th: $95 Online After March 20th: $100 Online Registration fee includes a full uniform (shirt, shorts and socks), trophy, trained positive coaches, nice fields and background checks on all volunteers. 2012 Folk life Festival
What was life like for the pioneers of early Texas? How did they Dress? What skills did they need to survive? Where did the children go to school? What kinds of animals did they own?
