Children’s activities STORY TIME and events
• Storybook Quilt Story Time for children ages 3-10 - Monday, May 6th at 5:00 pm. The Children’s Librarian will read a quilt-themed book with a quilt especially made to complement the book, then do a quilt craft with the help of the Tri-County Quilt Guild. • Preschool Story Time for children ages 3-6 - Tuesdays at 10:30 am. Children’s Librarian will read stories, lead everyone in song and direct the making of a craft project. • Baby Book Time for children ages 0-18 months - Wednesdays at 2:00 pm. Children’s Librarian will read a simple story, lead everyone through the performance of nursery rhymes and songs and encourage interaction between caregivers and babies through the use of educational toys. • Infant Gymboree - non-walkers only - Wednesday, May 1st at 2:00 pm. Encourage development through play and learning with this program designed to support your child’s growth at their own individual pace. From sensory stimulation to problem-solving games and storytelling, this class uses play-based activities to stretch the body and mind. • Toddler Story Time for children ages 18-36 months - Thursdays at 10:30 am. Children’s Librarian will read stories, lead everyone in song and direct the making of a craft project for this younger set. • Origami Workshop for children 9+ - Saturday, May 18th at 1:00 am. Lisa Jastram, who lived in Japan for 16 years in her youth, will demonstrate and talk about the art of origami in its original form and modern form. She will bring along some of her best creations to show the participants. The students will then learn to fold three or four different origami figures of their own which they will be able to take home. Limit 30. • Shadow Puppet Show and Craft - Saturday, May 25th at 1:00 am. Perfect for all ages. Explore the ancient world of shadow puppetry presented by Puppet Pizzazz. Limit one craft per family. Children’s programs require a free ticket for admission. Tickets will be distributed beginning 30 minutes before the program begins. All programs are free and open to the public.
