My name is (your name). I’m 13 years old and I’m from Ukraine.
I’m very happy to hear that you will be joining our school soon. I study at (name of your school). It’s a big and friendly school with many classrooms, a library, a gym, and a nice playground. The teachers are kind and always ready to help. We also have many clubs like art, music, and sports. Every day, I start school at 8:30 a.m. We usually have six lessons. During breaks, I talk with my friends or go to the canteen. My favourite subject is English because I really enjoy it. School finishes at 3:00 p.m., and sometimes I stay for basketball practice. I would love to know more about you. What subjects do you like? Do you have any hobbies?

A Funny Day at the Museum
Last spring, our class went on a school trip to the city museum. It was a sunny Tuesday, and we were all very excited. I was with my best friends, (name 1 ) and (name 2). We wanted to learn about history, but something unexpected happened! When we were walking through the dinosaur section, (friend’s name) tried to make us laugh by pretending to be a T-Rex. He/She put his/her arms close to the chest and made funny sounds. Suddenly, he/she bumped into a big display and almost knocked
over a dinosaur model! Everyone gasped, and our teacher, (teacher’s name), looked shocked. Luckily, the dinosaur didn’t fall. The museum guide helped, and we all said sorry. After that, we had to stay very quiet. We continued the tour, but we couldn’t stop giggling. In the end, nothing was broken, and we learned many interesting facts. I felt embarrassed, but also happy, because it became a memory I will never forget. It was a funny and unforgettable school trip!

Imagine you've been at a summer camp for a week. Write an email to a friend giving him/her your news.
Hi (friend’s name),
I’ve been at this summer camp for a week now, and I really wanted to tell you all about it! The camp is in the countryside, surrounded by trees and a big lake. It’s very peaceful, and the air is fresh.
So far, I’ve done lots of activities. We’ve gone hiking, swimming in the lake, and even tried archery. There are also evening
campfires where we sing songs and tell stories. I really like the nature here and spending time with new friends. However, I don’t like the food very much — it’s not as good as at home. Also, we have to wake up very early every morning! Overall, I think the camp is a great experience. I’m having fun, learning new things, and I’ll have many stories to tell when I get back.

Writing
Write a short science-fiction story, or ashort story about a robot pet.
My Robot Pet, Zeno
Last year, I received a very special birthday gift — a robot pet named Zeno. He looked like a small silver dog with bright blue eyes. Unlike a real dog, Zeno never needed food or sleep, but he could learn, think, and even talk.
At first, he only followed simple commands like “sit” and “play.” But soon, he started to surprise me. One morning, I couldn’t find my keys, and Zeno scanned the house and showed me exactly
where they were. He even reminded me to do my homework and helped me study.
One day, something strange happened. Zeno stared out the window for a long time and asked, “What is freedom?” I didn’t know how to answer. He said he wanted to explore the world, not just stay indoors.
I felt worried but also proud. I opened the door and let him go into the garden. He walked slowly, looking at the sky like he was dreaming. Then he turned back and said, “I will always return.” Since that day, Zeno leaves every morning to explore and comes back every evening. He is not just a robot — he is my friend, curious about the world, just like me.

Subject: Sports Day
Hi (friend’s name),
That’s fantastic news! I’m so happy to hear that your school is organising a sports day for charity. It sounds like it will be a lot of fun, and it’s great that you are volunteering. About the sports, since people of all ages will be there, I think it’s a good idea to have a mix of activities. You could have races like sprints for children and adults, team games like football or volleyball, and some fun activities like a three-legged race or tugof-war. That way, everyone can join in and have a good time. I’m sure it will be a very successful event. Good luck with the preparations, and I can’t wait to hear how it goes!

Write an account of your best/worst holiday.
My Best Holiday
My best holiday was last summer. I went with my family to the mountains for a week. We stayed in a small cabin near a lake and spent our days hiking, swimming, and having picnics. One day, we even rented small boats and explored the lake. What made this holiday so special was that we all spent time together, away from phones and school. I felt really happy and relaxed. I also met some friendly locals and learned a lot about the area. It was an unforgettable experience, and I hope to go back next year. Сторінка 31
Imagine that you live in Paris, France, and a friend is planning to visit you. Read part of the email he has sent you.
Subject:Visiting Paris
Hi Brad,
I’m so excited that you’re planning to visit Paris! July is usually warm here, but the evenings can be a bit chilly, so I recommend bringing casual clothes and don’t forget a jumper or a light jacket. There are so many great things to do in the city. You can go on a boat trip down the River Seine, enjoy the view from the Eiffel Tower, visit the Louvre Museum, and walk up and down the Champs-Elysées, which is Paris’ most famous avenue. And yes, French food is delicious! You’ll find amazing cheese and traditional dishes everywhere. I’m sure you’ll enjoy every moment. I can’t wait to show you around!
