KTJ Makes it Happen!
Find out what KTJ Secondary Students are up to WHAT'S

Sarah Chesworth, Head of Secondary
Welcome to the first edition of “KTJ Makes it Happen” where you can keep up to date with the busy lives of our students. We hope you all had a happy Merdeka Day!
Our opening assembly of the year had the theme of “Journey”. Our School Council and Head Prefects collaborated to offer advice on how to navigate through the academic year, with a distinctly Barbie feel to it! We were also reminded of the school song by our Choir Director, Ian Chesworth.
There is already a buzz in the air about our School Production for this term. It will be “A Midsummer Night’s Dream” by William Shakespeare. Mr Adrian Nebbett’s explanation of the plot had the students laughing in no time. Use the key dates section to get this in your diary!
If your child is eager to take individual instrumental/vocal lessons please fill in this form to let Enrico Millo know.
The nerves of starting a new year and in some cases a new school are already beginning to die down as the students embrace all aspects of KTJ life.

It has been a busy start to the term with 193 new students being welcomed to their houses from Saturday to Monday.
Our first house gathering, this past Wednesday, was the ‘House Shout’ event which was great fun, if loud! There were many new house chants on show and we will no doubt hear a lot of them throughout the year.
House singing rehearsals are well under way and we look forward to the live event on 14 September at 19:45.
House nights (or days) will be taking place next weekend for all houses and details have been shared with parents. We strongly encourage all students to attend as these events are designed to bring the house groups together in a fun and inclusive environment.
House Sport: House football starts on 21 September.
The Co-curricular Activities (CCA) fair was a wonderful success, with staff and students tirelessly promoting their activities for two hours. Students now have the CCA booklet to read and the Google form to complete. Students in Forms 1 to 3 are expected to choose at least three CCAs including two physically active options. Students in Forms 4 & 5 should pick at least two
CCA sign up is open and students should have picked by 2pm on Sunday
Students have already got into the sporting spirit by taking full advantage of our huge campus. Be it going for jogs, cycling or playing basketball with friends, they really have hit the ground running.
Rest assured we take their return to sport seriously. Mr Shamirul has already sent out training advice for cross country to help them get back to match fitness and sports lessons will focus on building up stamina.
We are excited to be preparing for the U15 FOBISIA Games this term as well as numerous AIMS competitions. The first is a home game for U15 & O15 Boys Football against Oasis on Tuesday 12th
September
