LESLIE KRAATZ FEDERAL METALS, INC.
Born to be a Scrap Dealer, Leslie is the third-generation owner of Federal Metals Inc, founded by her Grandfather in 1950. Federal Metals is a Calgary based metal recycling facility that assists businesses and Calgarians with their metal recycling needs. Overcoming the bias that being female is a detriment in the scrap industry, Leslie has smashed the male dominated barriers and turned her femininity from a liability to one of Federal Metals greatest assets. As an ambassador for Scrap Dealers across Alberta, she works alongside Government, Police and security of Power companies to help mitigate copper theft. She belongs to CARI (Canadian Association of the Recycling Industry) and sits on the Women in Recycling Council of ISRI (Institute of Scrap Recycling Industries). Leslie is also co-founder and an owner of CRO Software Solutions (software designed specifically for waste and recycling industry), Executive Director at Thirsty Naturals Inc and was crowned Mrs. Calgary 2015.
