Founder & CEO

Launched in 2017, The KNOW WomenTM began as a way to bring more attention to dynamic women doing remarkable things in the Phoenix metro. We knew there were an outstanding number of women impacting the community and making big strides in their industries. Our goal was to get those women out from behind their computer screens and into the public eye. Thus, we created the KNOW Book, a carefully curated publication that would feature vision-led women in a glamorous and authentic style.

As the momentum grew and we recognized the need for more, we launched our Collaborative around the women featured in our KNOW Book. Our mix & mingles soon ensued and we witnessed incredible things happening. We saw our women doing business with each other, creating friendships, supporting each other, collaborating on projects together, and so much more.

What started as a fun project to spotlight women, has turned into a full-blown movement. The KNOW WomenTM has expanded beyond its birthplace of Phoenix, Arizona; its aim is to launch in every major city across the United States and Canada.

As a Volume I woman and founding KNOW Sarasota member, I knew my answer immediately when presented the opportunity to lead our community through the Volume II publication.

The empowerment and unwavering support of women is my passion, and one of my core values in all things I do. When you bring women together, magical things happen. Our Volume I women, during a pandemic, still managed to form friendships, partnerships, and new businesses! We collaborated, taught, and supported one another- even if it was virtually. Ever since she was a little girl, Vanessa Silvana knew she was set out to be an artist and it wasn’t until her 20’s that she discovered her obsession for makeup.

She auditioned for Laura Mercier as their Makeup Artist and was able to glam celebrities and her favorite designer, Rebecca Minkoff. After gaining personal clients while working she went on her own in March 2019 opening a salon in downtown Sarasota. Excited to excel in just one year, a pandemic hit forcing her to close the doors. This drove her to work harder and rebrand to LOCH NESSA MAKEUP CREATIONS. Vanessa has worked with MTV, TLC, Amazon Ads & Netflix. The name is her childhood nickname from her brother, and has turned into her creative signature.

Easterseals Southwest Florida Brittany Bryant is the Director of Early Childhood Intervention at Easterseals Southwest Florida. Easterseals has served our community for 75 years and offers the highest quality of programming to children, youth, and adults with disabilities. The Lily School for Child Development is a nationally accredited, inclusive preschool serving children six weeks to five years of age.

Brittany was born and raised in Ohio, and attended the University of Toledo where she obtained a B.A in Early Childhood & M.Ed. concentrating in Special Education. She has been in educational leadership for twelve years with experience in non-profit, corporate, private, and home-based care. Brittany is passionate about educating the youth, as they are the leaders of tomorrow, and is dedicated to impacting future generations while empowering others to do the same.

Shavonne is a dedicated mother of two with three bonus children. She holds a Master’s in Management from the University of Phoenix, received her Certification in Nonprofit Management and Leadership and is currently pursuing her Diploma in Divinity from Christian Leaders College.

She is an active member of Zeta Phi Beta Sorority, Inc. and School Advisory Council (SAC) at Booker Middle School. Shavonne is also a published author of three children’s books. In her spare time, Shavonne enjoys reading, travelling and spending quality time with her kids, family and friends. Graci McGillicuddy has been committed to healing children victimized by abuse for over 35 years. Her dream of a place where children who have experienced abuse & neglect can heal, has now come true. The All Star Children’s Center is a refuge for children, a place where healing occurs, hope is restored and spirits are renewed.

The 5-acre campus which houses a 12,000 sq. ft. Mental Health Treatment & Research Center, 6 foster homes, a clubhouse, playgrounds and more, provides abused children, when first removed from their homes, a nurturing, family style home environment and comprehensive, trauma informed treatment. All Star sets the standard in healing childhood trauma through innovation, science & compassion.

Graci is happiest at the All Star campus seeing the transformation as the light comes back into the children’s eyes. Her greatest reward is receiving a hug from an All Star child.

Generous in heart and spirit, Terri Klauber is an amazing mother and grandmother, dedicated friend, and passionate supporter to multiple non-profits supporting children and families in our region and worldwide. As an Advisory Board member for the past 12 years, Terri helped create and has chaired “Cooking For Wishes” for Make-A-Wish Southern Florida. She also works with Easterseals, The Child Protection Center, The All Star Children’s Foundation, and more. Terri and her husband Michael co-founded the All Heart Fund and the legendary “Safari Sarasota” events – helping to build seven digital learning schools in some of the most rural areas of South Africa – giving thousands of young people chances to learn technology skills and help them enter today’s digital world.

Hoping to help like-minded young professionals feel a sense of support and belonging in the area, she founded Emerge Sarasota, a 501c3 nonprofit that connects and provides a platform and resources for young professionals of color in Sarasota/Manatee counties.

The mission of Emerge is to help foster a thriving, diverse and collaborative group of BIPOC professionals and allies, who have made a lasting impact on our peers and throughout the community of Sarasota.

In addition to her philanthropic efforts, Samantha is a wife, mother, award-winning news reporter, and wellbeing educator. Her holistic, well-being lifestyle brand, Well + Wild Co., will launch in Sarasota in early summer 2022.

As CEO of Mission Made Possible, she oversees consulting services that help organizations overcome barriers to accomplish their goal.

Previously, as Executive Director, Ms. Kasdan led a healthcare nonprofit providing nearly 1000 low-income uninsured residents more than $1.3 million in free care annually.

Recognized twice as a Florida Top 50 Influencer, she is an accomplished keynote speaker, Junior League of Sarasota member, Board Chair at Making An Impact, and a Board of Director for several local and regional nonprofits.

Kasdan holds a Bachelor of Science in Nursing, Masters in Public Health from the University of Illinois, and is a licensed insurance agent for health, life, and variable annuities.
