Air Diffusers Fixed Blade Swirl Diffusers Introduction KMC Fixed blade Swirl Diffusers have been utilized to provide a high induction horizontal air pattern ideal for exposed duct , especially VAV applications. The vanes of the diffuser outlet produce a twist effect while the smooth curved discharge enhances the strong horizontal pattern. The horizontal radial jets cause rapid mixing of the room air ensuring the equalized temperature in the space even at high cooling loads. These Diffusers can be spaced closer together than the conventional diffusers making it an ideal choice for high air volume applications.
Application • The round, conic Swirl diffuser type VTS is suitable for the supply of cooled or heated air with a big temperature differences • Model VTS swirl diffusers can be mounted in false ceilings or suspended. • Their round shape together with the helical design of their blades causes a rotational diffusion of the air stream, obtaining a high induction index. • Recommended for constent or variale Air Volume Systems • High “Coanda” effect at low flow rates
Product Features • VTS diffusers can be used in premises from 2.6 – 4.0 meters high and a temperature differential up to 12ºC
Construction • Diffuser with a nozzle made from galvanized steel. • All diffusers are provided with a seal on the back of the frame in order that the perimeter in contact with the ceiling is airtight • The diffuser can be easily installed in the separate plenum box by means of a central screw. • An optional fixing ring can be supplied for easy mounting in a ceiling tile. • Powder Coated to RAL 9010 as standard
Selection Procedure Selections can be made by means of a straight read-off from the “Performance Data” for the selected model. • Determine the air volume flow rate per outlet. • Establish the required Throw (Refer Notes for Throw Pattern) • Select the diffuser based on required Air flow rate against the limiting pressure drop and sound level requirements.
