Looking up the menu to write this blurb had my mouth watering. The Birch Door, which has occupied the space on the Guide since 2017, offers a unique breakfast menu that accommodates even the pickiest eaters. Try the pancakes with Georgia pecans cooked inside, or choose something from the “Stylish Eggs” section. Peach mimosas? Yes, please.

Voters love a good conveyer belt — and Kuru Kuru delivers. While guests may pull dishes directly from the belt that runs the entire restaurant, they can also order specialty menu items. There is comfortable seating for large parties, or just grab some take-out and enjoy at home.

A truck farm is a century-old term for a farm that trucks its produce from the gardens to local markets. Joe’s Gardens started in the ‘20s, but in 1933 moved to the location where it still stands today. Joe’s is one of only a few original truck farms in Whatcom County that still operates, selling their goods at a stand on the farm.
