A DAY TO REMEMBER FOR 7 KLEEK APPRENTICES
Our recent re-brand, moving away from Saks Apprenticeships to Kleek, was all about being more attuned to our audience. Whether that be students, hair and beauty salons or educators.
Kleek, we feel, is now a more youthful, energetic and passionate brand. These are also qualities we would want to see reflected in a new generation of hair and beauty professionals.

With that set firmly in our minds, we wanted to further ignite the enthusiasm and passion of selected Kleek apprentices by giving them a glimpse into, what could be, their own exciting future in hair and beauty.
A competition was set in motion by posting the call-out for entries on our exclusive Kleek Facebook group earlier this year. The apprentices were invited to enter and be in with a chance of attending a photo shoot to work on top models to create content for an upcoming Kleek digital campaign. This would give them invaluable experience working with industry professionals, an experience that would give them a real insight into what it would be like working in hair and beauty at the highest level.

The competition was open to Kleek apprentices across England for both hair and beauty. To enter, they needed to comment on the competition post with a picture or video of their work based on the theme of a ‘Hollywood look.’
7 apprentices were then chosen from the entries and won an all-expenses paid trip to London with an overnight stay and, of course, the full-day photo shoot.
In May this year, the winning apprentices were taken along to the photography studio in Notting Hill, West London accompanied by the Kleek team. The shoot was directed by Luke Pluckrose, Creative Director of Saks UK, and his hand-picked ensemble of photographers, videographers, hair stylists, make-up artists, nail technicians and wardrobe stylists.
It was an unforgettable experience, taking in the full-day shoot and assisting the stylists with the look and feel and, of course, seeing top models in action.

It is days like this that encourage and inspire all involved but particularly those young apprentices just starting out on their journey in their chosen profession of hair and beauty.
