As part of the 40th annual Frontier Days, runners took to the streets of Arlington Heights for 5K and 10K races. Like many other local races that weekend, the Stampede Run saw quick times, with all of the top five men finishing in under 17 minutes.

Runners took on the hills, trails and humidity of the Waterfall Glen Forest Preserve in mid-July to test their mettle and earn some CARA Runners Choice Circuit points in the process on the 10th race of this year’s competition. Kyle Larson continued his recent surge towards the top of the Circuit, beating his closest competitor, James Akita, by over 30 seconds. Imerman Angels brought brunch to the Lakefront Trail in July with its inaugural Brunch Run 5K. The race featured on-course “fauxmosas” and waffles with a complete spread of breakfast food at the post-race party as well. The event raised funds for the organization, which provides one-on-one support to cancer fighters and caregivers dealing with the same type of cancer.
