Outline of trip: Aims and Itinerary This trip, which will take place in December 2023 and is open to pupils in Years 6, 7 and 8 (there will be a limit of 40 places). The trip is open to all levels of skiing and each pupil will receive 25 hours of tuition over the course of five days. In addition to skiing, there will be an evening programme that will include two evening meals at local restaurants, a games evening and an awards night.

The cost of the trip will include a 5-day ski pass, ski instruction, ski hire (including skis, boots, poles and helmets), ski instructors that will be dedicated to our group, flights, coach transfers, accommodation, trip hoodie, all meals and any evening activities. We will be travelling by air from Milan Malpensa airport.

The trip encourages children to learn or improve upon their ski skills, experience a different culture and build long lasting friendships whilst spending time away from home. A Kitebrook ski website provides an easy way for parents to keep informed with daily photographs from the trip.

Outline of trip: Aims and Itinerary Our Year 4 and 5 pupils will stay at Willersley Castle. It was built in 1792 by Richard Arkwright, the famous entrepreneur & inventor, from the Industrial Revolution. The estate offers exceptional facilities within a 65 acre estate on the edge of the Peak District. The grounds consist of woodlands, fields and gardens inhabited by an abundance of wildlife; as well as the River Derwent which flows along 2 km of the estate.

Willersley Castle provides a safe and secure environment for schools to enjoy outdoor pursuits. Kitebrook children will take part in team building and leadership challenges as well as sports and craft activities too.

Travel will be by coach to the Peak District.

Outline of trip: Aims and Itinerary Pupils will be immersed in Spanish culture in one of the most vibrant and exciting cities in Europe. With a guided tour of La Segrada Famillia, a beautiful basilica designed by the artist Gaudi and entrance to Parc Güell included in the cost, the children will see beautiful historic architecture. The pupils will also be taken to the Gothic quarter, Las Ramblas, the Marina/ beachfront and the incredible Montjuïc castle. The children will try out their linguistic skills with native speakers and sample paella and spanish tapas meals, as well as improve their geographic knowledge of a European city.

We will fly with British Airways from Heathrow London, with minibus or coach transfers.

Outline of trip: Aims and Itinerary Pupils will experience French culture at a school in France. The school has a longstanding link with Kitebrook and we have been sending children over in the summer (Trinity) term for many years. Children have their academic lessons as well a cocurricular programme whilst they are there, boarding and sharing a unique, memorable stay with their peers in Château de Sauveterre. There are day trips, for example to local markets and places of interest. The children use their language skills and interact with native speakers as well as their academic lessons taught in French.

Not only is this a fantastic experience for the Kitebrook children but their spoken French and understanding greatly improves. The children stay for 5 weeks with their friends and specialist, experienced teachers, as well as children from Mowden Hall or Cothill; other Prep School Trust schools.

Travel is by flights and bus.

Parents are invited out to visit in the middle weekend of the stay.

Outline of trip: Aims and Itinerary The trip is planned to be 3 nights, arriving in Naples with the hostel accommodation in the centre of Ercolano at the foot of Mount Vesuvius. Pupils will visit the outstanding ruins of Herculaneum, climb Vesuvius, and explore Pompeii. There is swimming pool access at a nearby hotel. Supermarket lunches, bought by the children, will enable us to picnic in the day and supper will be at pavement restaurants.

The pupils will learn about the eruption of Vesuvius and its effect on nearby towns, but also how to travel and explore on a budget.

Outline of trip: Aims and Itinerary The Year 8 pupils are set for 3 days of adventure! Land & Wave have put together an exciting programme of challenging activities for the pupils including: Archery Tag, Sea Swimming, Coasteering, Campfire cooking, Kayaking or raft building, Paddle Boarding, Pioneering and Beach games.

After the Common Entrance examinations, this is a fantastic group experience full of fun and memory-making excursions. All meals are provided and shuttles by minibus.
