Boarding at Kitebrook Preparatory School offers our pupils a unique chance to cultivate qualities such as self-reliance, resilience, teamwork, and inclusiveness within our close-knit boarding community. Our boarders enjoy comfortable, welllit, and welcoming bedrooms and communal spaces located right at the heart of the school, all set amidst the picturesque Cotswolds. Supported by a dedicated team of staff, including a resident Boarding Housemistress and Housemaster, our pupils are encouraged to fully engage and make the most of their boarding experience.

Why Kitebrook?

Nestled in the Cotswolds, amid stunning landscapes, Kitebrook is a co-educational independent school catering to children aged 3 to 13, providing both day and boarding options.

At Kitebrook, we understand the diverse needs of modern families, and that's why we offer a range of flexible boarding choices. Whether you're looking for a weekly, flexible, or full boarding experience, our adaptable system allows pupils to board as frequently or as infrequently as suits their preferences and family schedules.

The Boarding Experience In charge of the Boarding House, you'll find Mr. Tait, along with his partner, Trudy. Supporting Mr. Tait is Mrs. Medcraft, who serves as the Deputy Housemistress. Mr. Tait wears multiple hats as the Deputy Designated Safeguarding Lead and a Mathematics and Games teacher, while Mrs. Metcalfe specialises in teaching English as an Additional Language and French.

Beyond our committed core team, we're fortunate to have two House Tutors and two resident Gap Students lending additional support to our boarding community. Keeping the lines of communication open with parents is a top priority for the boarding team.

Nestled in the heart of the school, The Boarding House offers spacious, well-lit, and inviting rooms, providing each child with their own private sanctuary. Our shared spaces include a welcoming common room, a fully-equipped kitchen, a dedicated Prep room, and a variety of games to keep the children entertained. Additionally, our boarders enjoy access to the school's beautiful grounds and facilities.

The Weekend Experience Boarders are treated to a packed Saturday morning schedule, offering a wide array of activities. Some Saturday afternoons are dedicated to sports matches, while on-site activities keep those not participating in matches entertained. Sundays begin with a relaxed breakfast in pyjamas, complete with dressing gowns and comfy slippers.

Weekends for our boarders are anything but ordinary. They embark on at least one exciting trip every weekend, with options including visits to renowned attractions like the London Eye, the Natural History Museum, Warwick Castle, Thorpe Park, as well as activities like skating and dry slope skiing. Boarders have the freedom to make the most of their leisure time, making use of the school's extensive facilities, which encompass the sports hall, tennis courts, and expansive playing fields.

During Exeat weekends within the term, boarders have the flexibility to spend time with their parents, friends, or guardians. For those who prefer to stay at school, the campus remains open and operational.
