In early March, the Hoofbeats Are My Melody nonprofit art center and Romo Training Stables hosted Ranch Nights. At this event were four distinct beverages generously donated by innovative companies, each embodying a unique ethos of taste, adventure, and wellness
First up on the tasting menu was HOP WTR – a creation born from the adventurous spirit of its founders, Jordan Bass and Nick Taranto. Inspired by their love for outdoor escapades in sunny Southern California, they sought to redefine the post-adventure ritual without the foggy aftermath of traditional beer. After months of experimentation, HOP WTR emerged: a non-alcoholic brew infused with the essence of hops, promising the satisfaction of a cold one without the morning-after woes.
Next on the lineup was June Shine, a revelation born from a simple question in a grocery store aisle: Why do we know so much about the food we eat, but not the alcohol we drink? Crafted in San Diego with real, premium ingredients, JuneShine offers an alternative to traditional alcohol that's both delicious and sustainable.
For those seeking a crisp and refreshing option, Easy Rider delivered with its light and crushable American lager. Brewed with only four ingredients – hops, barley, water, and yeast – Easy Rider embodies true transparency and simplicity. But their commitment to community goes beyond brewing beer; through the Everyday Americans Foundation, Easy Rider gives back to local heroes and first responders, embodying the spirit of gratitude and service
Lastly, guests indulged in a sip of Leisure, a premium blend of natural electrolytes, essential vitamins, and moodenhancing nutrients. With 700mg of electrolytes sourced naturally, along with stress-reducing magnesium, energizing B vitamins, and calming L-Theanine and Ashwagandha, Leisure provided a moment of rejuvenation for both mind and body.

James Tate Wilson's journey in the entertainment industry began as a child actor, and over time, he explored various facets of filmmaking, from acting to directing, producing, and writing. His love for storytelling and the collaborative nature of filmmaking drove him to pursue a career in directing Wilson enjoys working with talented teams, believing that each collaborator enhances the final product, and he is passionate about sharing diverse stories and styles of storytelling
Wilson’s creative process varies with each project. Sometimes ideas come to him unexpectedly, while at other times, inspiration is sought through films, books, and music. Balancing the roles of director, producer, and writer can feel overwhelming at times, but he credits his collaborators co-writers, cinematographers, and producers for helping him manage and refine his vision.
His influences include legendary filmmakers such as Alfred Hitchcock, Akira Kurosawa, and John Ford, and writers like Raymond Chandler Wilson values the lessons he learns from his peers and aims to surround himself with people who prioritize honesty and storytelling.
One of his proudest achievements is a recent short film made in collaboration with Atlas Lens Co., Rare Breeds West, and Earthbound Media Filming with unpredictable horses added layers to the story and presented unique challenges, but Wilson and his team overcame them to create a personal and authentic film, beautifully shot by cinematographers Matt Roe and Ryan Wood
Wilson’s primary goal is to entertain audiences, but he also enjoys weaving personal elements into his narratives He believes that good storytelling resonates universally, allowing audiences to draw their own conclusions. A recurring theme in his work is characters discovering their true selves, a journey Wilson continues to explore in his own life.
Leather….. there’s no substitute.
Catching the likes of some famous celebrities like Reba McEntire, Lainey Wilson, Miranda Lambert, and Jessie James Decker, California based brand Western & Co. believes in quality over quantity and sets out to design ready-to-wear western leather jackets and accessories to be in a league of their own.
It all started with a jacket – or should we say, without one. A lifelong lover of vintage, founder and designer Hailey Nelson was on a mission to find the perfect leather jacket: well-made, modern with a flattering silhouette, and of course, made of real leather. But search as she did, she just couldn’t find “the one.” So, as the old story goes, she designed it herself.
Here at Western & Co., we try and set our work a part by making it as high end as possible. The resurgence of western in mainstream fashion brings a sense of nostalgia, glamour and curiosity for those not living the lifestyle making them want to be apart of it. We're reinventing the wheel for western leather fashion and believe it should be in everyones closet KISMET MAGAZINE
Cowboy Poetry is an intimate story telling experience embedded as one of the oldest American art forms inspired by the West. Often about romance, glory, western landscapes, culture and iconic figures, cowboy poetry celebrates and preserves the history of the west. In addition to reciting poetry over acoustic guitar, Cowboy Poetry L.A. offers our poetry workshop, where we bring a host of vintage typewriters for guests to type their own poems and take their poem home as a keepsake.
In the heart of the picturesque Moorpark, CA, nestled beneath a canopy of stars, Stefan Siegel hosted an unforgettable Western night event that celebrated the spirit of the Wild West.
What started as a trail-ride for a couple of friends one year ago, has grown into a rodeo community of over 80 cowgirls and cowboys – sharing their love for Western culture and horsemanship. Beyond the riding & roping, six up-and-coming bands selected by @WestsideWesterns – as well as the beautiful hosting ranch of @RomoTrainingStables, set the bar very high for what’s to come. See you at the next one…
