Welcome to the second Kirknewton What's On Guide.

We received good feedback on our first issue. You and other communities in West Lothian loved it and estate agents selling houses in Kirknewton wanted to include it in their further particulars!

We are encouraged that the What's On guide encouraged many of you to 'give it a go' and try something new, on your own doorstep.

We are particularly happy to see the Green Room, alongside the Village Hall, becoming an established part of our lives with local people arranging their own events there including hen do's, kids and christening parties. In this issue of What's On we have included a new booking form for events and classes in the Green Room for you. We can also organise catering for your event if required.

None of this would be possible without volunteers. To celebrate and thank fantastic volunteers we are running our second volunteer awards this year. You can vote online as before or fill in the survey in this brochure by 30th September.

The homework club is for both primary and high school pupils who are looking for a peaceful environment to study.

Joining a homework club can be a fantastic way to boost motivation and confidence. This is a drop in session.

Learn about all aspects of the guitar, from playing your first chords and scales to writing your own songs, performing in a group and learning about music theory. Suitable for all ages and based around the music that you enjoy, these classes will inspire you to find PILATES your inner creative side.

Over 50 & looking looking to improve your computer skills? Come and work through material from complete beginners to a more advanced level in a relaxed atmosphere. Provided in partnership with Bethany Christian Trust and Kirknewton & East Calder Parish church.

Pilates is an amazing way to tone and build core strength. Pop along to one of our sessions

The class is conducted by an experienced teacher and is tailored to suit the pupil whether beginner or intermediate. Keyboards are provided, however students will need an instrument to practice on at home.

Kirknewton youth club is a weekly group for s1-s6 pupils. The group will either be based at The Green Room or The Village Hall. Come and try our new pool table, popcorn maker and air hockey table!

RAINBOWS We have a fantastic Rainbow group in Kirknewton Village Hall for girls age 5-7 years. Every Wednesday during term times between 5pm and 6.15pm we have lots of fun doing different crafts, playing all sorts of games, learning new things, working towards special Girl Guiding badges and there is always lots of laughing going on.

Intrepid Taekwon-Do was established in 1991 by Mr. Darren Scott (5th Degree Black Belt). Mr. Scott has been teaching Taekwondo for over 20 years; is an examiner and a qualified International Instructor.

We are members of the United Taekwon-Do Federation (Scotland), which is affiliated to Grandmaster Hwang, Kwang Sung (K-9-1) who presides the Unified International Taekwon-Do Federation.
