Festival to help fund arts complex Contributed Report
KING WILLIAM — The 5th Annual Fine Arts Festival — featuring King William County Public Schools bands, choirs, theatre and forensics; King William County Community Concert Band; Dawn’s School of Dance; student artwork; silent auction;
and concessions — will be held from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. Saturday, April 25, at King William High School. Opening ceremonies are scheduled to get underway at 11 a.m. in the school gymnasium. The King William Public Schools Education Foundation (KWPSEF), a

tax-exempt, nonprofit charitable foundation, has a goal of raising money to enhance and expand educational opportunities for the students of King William County through communitywide participation and philanthropy.

Honor Society donates to D.A.R.E. program

The King William High School (KWHS) Chapter of the National Honor Society collected donations from the community during the KWHS Boys and Girls Senior Night basketball games. Over $300 was donated to the King William Sheriff’s Department for the D.A.R.E. (Drug Abuse Resistance Education) Program. Deputy Jeff Goodman, King William County Public School Resource Officer, teaches D.A.R.E., an international substance abuse prevention education program, to second and fifth grade students. Money will go towards t-shirts and graduation items upon completion of the program.
