WELCOME MESSAGE

It brings me great joy to extend a warm welcome to all students, coaches, parents, and supporters participating in the 2024 Under 11 BSME Games at Kings’ School Al Barsha. BSME stands as a remarkable organization, fostering collaboration among students and schools, offering invaluable opportunities that transcend individual institutional capacities. Our heartfelt gratitude goes to BSME for their ongoing dedication to enhancing the educational and sporting experiences of schools in our region.

At Kings’, we firmly believe that school sports transcend the boundaries of the playing field or court. It is on these grounds that students learn the importance of teamwork, dedication, and perseverance lessons that extend far beyond the confines of the classroom. Through the crucible of competition, students identify their strengths, confront weaknesses, and cultivate a profound sense of self-belief. Beyond the physical benefits, school sports instill a sense of camaraderie, nurturing a healthy and supportive community. In the realm of education, the enduring lessons acquired on the sports field serve as an enduring blueprint for success, both on and off the playing field.

Kings’ School Al Barsha takes immense pride in hosting this year's games, as sports form an integral part of our ethos encapsulated in the principles of ‘Best by Every Child’ and ‘Results the Right Way.’ Throughout the three days of the games, our home is yours, and we are delighted to have you all with us.

BRIGHTON COLLEGE ABU

Sport forms an integral part of a pupil’s life at Brighton College. All of our pupils experience a wide variety of different sporting activities through PE lessons, as well as the diverse after-school activities programme that the College has to offer.

The ethos of the Sports Department is sport for all, with a focus on progression and enjoyment. Our main team sports are football, cricket, athletics, netball, swimming, touch rugby, volleyball, basketball, cricket and badminton. We believe that every child should be given the opportunity to develop their potential to the very best of their abilities. All pupils are encouraged to pursue sports in which they are talented or interested. In achieving this we hope that our pupils leave us with a love of sport and a desire to continue participating that will stay with them throughout their lives.

BRITISH SCHOOL AL KHUBAIRAT

At the heart of the BSAK constitution is our status as a not-for-profit and academically non-selective community school. Our aim is to deliver excellence in teaching and learning, bringing everything that is outstanding about the British curriculum to the United Arab Emirates. The notion of Britishness, with its many distinctive characteristics and qualities, is intrinsic from community to curriculum.

BSAK provides a full and broad education fit for the modern world. In addition to offering the traditional GCSE and A Level pathways, in 2016 we introduced the BTEC Level 3 Diploma in Engineering, Business and Sport, to great success. This pathway will be expanded further in September 2020 with four additional BTECs in Creative Media, Music, Science and Catering & Hospitality.

It is through our academic excellence, outstanding sport and music programmes, and wide co-curricular activities, that BSAK supports our students to exceed expectations, ensuring their education becomes the foundation for happiness and success.

At King’s School Dubai we believe that the way children are taught is as important as what they learn. Our approach is holistic, incorporating excellence and the attainment of skills as well as knowledge. We ensure a supportive environment focused on student happiness, health and well-being. We encourage our children to be active learners in every aspect of school life, inspiring independent, self-motivated and resilient individuals. Whilst competing within sport, we believe in doing this in the right way, showing sportsmanship and kindness to all, whilst working together as a team.

Safa Community School is a fairly new school, having been founded in 2014 in the Arjan area of Dubai. In recent years, the Sport at the school continued to grow from strength to strength, with huge numbers of students regularly participating in the extensive ECA programme.

With mass participation and inclusivity very much at the forefront of our Sporting Ethos, we have an amplitude of Squads that compete in the DASSA Leagues as well as at various WSG, BSME & Dubai wide competitions.

A number of this squad recently competed at the U11 World School Games competition where they achieved a very creditable 3rd place. The Squad eagerly await the U11 BSME Games competition and their chance to compete with some of the strongest schools across the middle east.

ST. CHRISTOPHER’S SCHOOL BAHRAIN

It is with great pleasure and pride that we have attended every single one of the BSME Games since its inception in 2001, where there were just four schools in attendance.

It's grown beyond belief since then, and we at St. Christopher’s welcome the chance to compete against the best schools around the region.

Win or lose, we will compete in the same fighting spirit that we are synonymous with, and we hope to make many new friends along the way.

We would like to thank Kings’ School Al Barsha, for graciously hosting this event, which I am sure will be very special.
