U8-U11 Surrey Rugby Festival 2025

WELCOME

Welcome to King’s for the much-anticipated Surrey Rugby Festival! We lost last year’s edition to rain, so are more determined than ever to enjoy this wonderful occasion, which coincides so neatly with the Six Nations. Let’s give the professionals a run for their money!

We are thrilled to host players, coaches, and supporters from numerous schools and look forward to two days filled with dedication, joy, and excitement. Please help yourselves to refreshments and cheer on the children, who will undoubtedly be giving their best.

A heartfelt thank you to the coaches for sharing their passion and expertise, to the referees for ensuring a safe and competitive environment, to the grounds staff for maintaining our wonderful facilities, and to the catering team for keeping us well-nourished.

Lastly, congratulations to all our young athletes. Today is about celebrating the core values of rugby: integrity, passion, solidarity, discipline, and respect. Have a fantastic time!

Well-being

It gives me great pleasure to invite you all to this year’s Surrey Rugby Festival. The next couple of days will certainly provide plenty of excitement for all involved. I have no doubt the pupils will experience plenty of highs and perhaps some lows, however the lessons learnt along the way will prove invaluable and help to shape their love of the game. I would like to extend my thanks to all those who have helped with this year’s festival; be it ground staff, coaches, referees, and catering. To the parents, my message is a simple one; please support each rugby moment equally, don’t let results dictate the mood of the day and enjoy watching your child run out onto the field to play the sport they love!

THE SURREY SCHOOLS RFU

Dear Guests,

I am delighted to welcome you to the 2025 Surrey Junior Schools Rugby Festival and extend my thanks to King’s College Junior School for hosting. On behalf of Surrey Schools Rugby, I would like to thank all those involved in the organisation of an event on this scale from the grounds staff and caterers to the tournament organizers, sports staff, volunteers, and match officials.

The opportunity to represent your school is always exciting and I thank you for the time and effort you have put into preparing for this event with your teammates and coaches. The standard of rugby will be high, and I hope these matches give you the great opportunity to showcase your learning and development this season.

Rugby is more than just a sport; it is an opportunity to develop lifelong friendships and learn skills that will help you beyond the confines of the pitch. Great players lead by example on the pitch, take pride in their performance and care about their teammates. There will be times when players and match officials make mistakes but as players, coaches, and spectators, we always respond with respect and humility, protecting the values of our game over winning.

Wishing you all a brilliant day of rugby.
