Who does this policy affect?
The King’s School Sports Centre wishes to make an active lifestyle available to as many people as possible. We therefore welcome people who need the support of carers and will do our best to make your visit an easy and enjoyable one.
Who is a carer?
A carer is anyone, who cares, paid or unpaid for an individual who looks after a family member, partner or friend who needs help – this might be because they are unwell, disabled or face physical, emotional or psychological challenges and cannot attend the Centre on their own without support.
How do I bring a carer?
If you require the support of carers whilst using our facilities, please make our reception staff aware at point of booking, so the Centre can provide the correct access and take the relevant details.
The carer(s) can change as necessary from visit to visit but they will be required to accompany you to reception and throughout the duration of your visit.
If you require more than one carer, please make this clear at point of booking as you may be asked to confirm what additional support is needed. This also enables the Centre to verify who is with you and to check availability.
Will my carer have to pay?
Carer(s) that need to accompany you to the changing rooms, swimming pool, fitness areas and otheractivities (where numbers are not limited) will be allowed free access.
There are however some conditions of use. While carer(s) will be allowed to access the facilities with you free of charge, they must at all times be in a caring role that is providing support and assistance.
Carers are not allowed to use the facilities independently and will be expected to pay in full if found doing so.
In the case of using the fitness areas, if your carer is actively participating for their own benefit, over and above your support needs, they will need to either join as a member of the Centre or sign up to our external network called “Hussle” and will be expected to pay to use the facilities.
