DUKE OF EDINBURGH gold TRIP TO MOROCCO In the last week of summer term 2014 a group of 20 Sixth Form students travelled to Morocco to complete their Gold assessment expedition. On arrival the group travelled to the hillside village of Imlil and settled in to the hostel. The group undertook a four day expedition, only the toughest would survive. The expedition involved each group carrying all their food, equipment and shelter for the four days; this made for some very heavy bags. As part of the expedition the group climbed Mt Toubkal, the highest peak in North Africa at a height of 4,167 meters. The group did fantastically well dealing with the heat, altitude sickness as well as those heavy bags! The trip ended with a day of rest and relaxation in Marrakech. The group were able to spend time bargaining in the souks and sun bathing by the pool. I would like to commend the group for their excellent attitude and spirit on the trip. It was truly unforgettable! Well done and congratulations to all 20 that have now completed their gold expedition sections of the awards. MRS DENNEY, P.E TEACHER
