Cong vice-president’s move seen as an enormous political risk after the LS disaster

he dilemma in the Congress is over. The Congress vicepresident Rahul Gandhi is finally taking the plunge into the party's campaigning for the Assembly elections in the state. He will address two rallies tomorrow (Wednesday). The Congress yesterday confirmed that Rahul Gandhi will be holding two rallies on October 8, one at Mahad in Raigad district and the other at Ausa in Latur district. However, party sources have claimed that he is likely to address 10 rallies in the state. It may be recalled that the Congress was facing the dilemma as to what extent Gandhi should participate in the crucial Maharashtra Assembly polls, which comes a few months after the party’s disastrous show in the Lok Sabha elections. While a section in the Congress wanted Gandhi to go all out and take on Prime Minister Narendra Modi on specific issues, some favoured a low-key campaign trail for him. It was eventually decided that he will address ten rallies in Maharashtra. The young Gandhi's plan to take to the battlefield with gusto comes as a surprise to insiders and observers alike given the party's negative rating in the poll-bound states and questions being raised about Gandhi's leadership after the Lok Sabha defeat. It goes against the grain of conventional wisdom. With Gandhi's prominent role in elections, Congress losses could further provide fodder to his critics within the party. In what would amount to enormous political risk, the Congress vice-president is finally entering the arena. The suspense has not ended over Congress president Sonia Gandhi's campaigning programme. The BJP on the other hand has made arrangements for Prime Minister Narendra Modi to hold totally 24 rallies in the state out of which five he has already addressed. The state election is crucial for both the Congress and the BJP. While the Congress has to prove that it is on the road to recovery after the decimation in the Lok Sabha elections, the BJP has the onerous task of maintaining the winning streak.

With Eid falling on Monday, the victim's father planned to go shopping with his wife on Sunday and it was

the accused who was in an intoxicated stage then proceeded to rape the younger sister. The victim's father, with his wife and son, then returned and saw their youngest daughter unconscious after her trauma with the accused.. At the same time the accused, who was drunk came back home. When the victim's father questioned him about the incident, the accused didn't answer anything, where on the accused was soundly beaten by the locals who handed him over to the Mumbra police.
