Martin Grady formally co-opted on to KCC

The Killarney Municipal Distirct has a new councillor. Cllr. Martin Grady has been officially co-opted to Kerry County Council.

He replaces his father Donal who is retiring from local politics after 24 years as a public representative.

Martin is a third generation Grady to sit in a council chamber.

His grandfather, John Grady served 11-years on Killarney Town Council.

His uncle, Sean was also a public representative for 40-years.

Mr Grady was nominated by Cllr Charlie Farrelly and seconded by fellow Killarney councillor Niall O’Callaghan at monday's full meeting of Kerry County Council.

They are proposing that these buildings will be three and five storeys high.

“The local residents are understandably very concerned about this proposed development for a number of reasons including the visual impact of this development on the approach to Killarney town from the Cork side and the lack of a traffic management plan,” said local resident Louise Hurley.
