Celtic to remember Doyler at charity match

Killarney Celtic have excellent facilities in Celtic Park, including the John Doyle Stand dedicated to the memory of the late, great soccer and GAA player who left us 10 years ago on Wednesday, July 26.

Karl McMahon is leading a top-class committee who are organising a charity match between Celtic and Kerry FC on John’s anniversary. All the proceeds will go to Comfort for Chemo Kerry.

The funds are just flying game, which will naturally be staged in Celtic Park. Admission is a modest tenner, or a fiver for U16s.

There will be a novel auction at half-time and the prizes will include gear donated by Kerry GAA stars David and Paudie Clifford (both accomplished soccer players), a Kerry jersey signed and donated by Colm Cooper, and a jersey donated by John Egan, the Irish soccer captain who has also sent a touching video message to all at Celtic.
