Kingdom will need more scorers to take down Dublin
Kerry and Dublin was, perhaps, the preferred All-Ireland final pairing in all counties except Monaghan and Derry. And that’s what we’re getting. Dublin were never in danger of losing to Monaghan, although the Ulster side gave them a real test. Cormac Costello (nephew of Legion’s Breda Murphy nee Costello) was the star forward, torturing Monaghan in the opening half by scoring delightful points left and right.
Kerry v Derry was a joy to behold with both teams playing the game that appeals to spectators: fast, furious and open. Some splendid shooting by Derry gave them a three-point lead at the interval.
