KidZania is pleased to welcome Bekha, the new RightZKeeper of our Nation. Bekha’s entrusted with the "To Be", and she joins Urbano, Beebop, Chika, Vita and Bache as the 6th RightZKeeper of KidZania.

KidZania’s logo is an iconic image that audiences have been relating to for over 12 years, in 19 countries. However, like most valuable brands of the world, the need of a refreshment of its corporate image was identified. A s i t s 2 0 t h a n n i ve r s a r y approaches, KidZania decided to upgrade its corporate image to reflect its evolution as a global brand. By maintaining iconic elements, such as KidZania’s National Flag, the brand updated the logo that keeps its most characteristic features while communicating simplicity, versatility and timelessness.

Broader Age Target As explained by Xavier Lopez Ancona, the company’s concept needed to evolve and adapt to a broader audience, hence KidZania 4.0 proposes to include activities in which adults may participate and interact with their children. Also, the RightZKeepers’ Neighborhood will be introduced as an area where toddlers, aged 0 to 5, will be able to play safely accompanied by their parents.

New Content In terms of content, KidZania will be able to improve visitors’ experience by developing new signature establishments, as well as activities related to

technology, entrepreneurship and robotics in an attempt to nurture children’s interest for STEM and new careers. This renovation of establishments will also consider introducing interactive queues and POS that will enrich the variety of activities at each facility.

KinesiZ KidZania’s expansion and evolution also involve the creation of an outdoor format, KinesiZ, devoted to promote a healthy lifestyle and provide a place where people can be active, eat healthy, be close to nature and spend time with their families. Although the final location for the first KinesiZ in Mexico City hasn’t been confirmed, variations of this concept are under development in order to fit smaller or even indoor locations.

Recreational Attraction Standard “Excellent” KidZania Bangkok has consolidated as one of the main offers for tourism in Thailand, as they were recognized as “Excellent” at the Recreational Attraction Standard Award (2016-2018), this recognition is granted by Thailand’s Department of Tourism.

Out of 300 candidates, this award was delivered to 85 firms that work with Mexican Teams, and KidZania was recognized for approving successfully 3 evaluation criteria: eligibility, success case and counselors’ validation.

KidZania Research on Learning The Experiential Learning approach get kids involved in their educational process and is based on the importance of encouraging children to broaden their aspirations from

a young age. According to a study conducted by KidZania in collaboration with Havas, efforts to raise children’s aspirations come too late, which suggests that even the very young hit a glass ceiling as early as the age of 4.

The study called Barometer of Children’s Aspirations considered a sample of 270,000 kids from the three facilities of KidZania in Mexico and 61,000 kids in the United Kingdom. The findings in both countries were very insightful and quite similar despite the economic, political and social disparity between both countries. This similarity suggests that kids are somehow educated in the same way or exposed to similar stimuli from the age of 4 to 14. The results of this barometer got the attention of relevant media outlets in the United

Kingdom, like The Financial Times which even published three articles devoted to this subject.

In 2017 the KidZania Census Bureau, also known as KCB worked in the implementation of many strategies to learn more about KidZania and their visitors. In Mexico´s Metropolis, KCB studied uses and habits of visitors, their customer satisfaction levels

Other efforts include the main study “The digital world of the autonomous kid and its learning effects”, where KCB found powerful insights regarding the way children relate to the digital world, autonomy, their freedom and how this can impact in their learning process. KidZania Santa Fe, KidZania Cuicuilco, KidZania Monterrey, KidZania Dubai, KidZania Mumbai and KidZania Kuala Lumpur took part in this project. KidZania Jakarta joined our B·KidZanian program on March 31st. The launch was successful with 10 sales on the first day. The first CitiZens and special guests where the CongreZZkids from KidZania Jakarta who were excited to become KidZanians and helped to make the launch ceremony a celebration.

During the gala dinner of the Top Management Zummit 2017 with representatives of KidZania´s Central Government and the KidZania States, the Institute for Ztandards Observance recognized KidZania Mumbai as KidZania´s Best Metropolis Award 2017. Sanjeev Kumar, KidZania´s India Governor, received the recognition from Xavier Lopez Ancona (President), Hernan Barbieri (Foreign Affairs) and Alessandra Gavito (I.Z.O.) in a night that was absolutely rewarding for all of KidZania India collaborators, this will inspire us to continue working in the search of

excellence. This award recognizes KidZania Mumbai as the best Metropolis among the twenty facilities that were eligible candidates this year. All operating facilities by the end of 2017 will be eligible for 2018 edition of the Best Metropolis Award that

acknowledges leadership, strategic planning, talent management, customer satisfaction, compliance, operations and outstanding performance.

The launch ceremony was presided by Ilham Firdaus, Major of KidZania Jakarta, accompanied by special guests and Central Government representatives. The whole implementation process was efficiently leaded by Perwita Sari who did a wonderful job and demonstrated that teamwork is the key to all endeavors enterprises. She was the responsible of having such a successful launch and operation of the loyalty program. By the end of the year, Jakarta had more than 4,000 CitiZens.

destination to bring the KidZania experience to the Japanese population. Due to the rising success in the Asian Region, KidZania Nagoya is planned to be allocated in Lalaport NAGOYA KOMEI with an estimated opening date set for late 2020.

This regional shopping center will feature green areas of approximately 8,000 m2, with an outdoor space to hold events for its local community and will also feature a new shared energy saving model.

A decade ago, Jakarta joined the KidZania Nation in the pursuit of a Better World, and 10 years of hard work and success serve as a testimony of their great effort in preserving KidZania beliefs and values. November 24th, 2007 was the date of foundation of this Metropolis in the State

of Indonesia, the 4th State in the KidZania Nation. KidZania Jakarta currently has 479 government collaborators. On November 24th, 2017, a big celebration was held at KidZania Jakarta, with special guests, celebrities, Industry Partners and Central Government representatives. Fellow representatives from KidZania Japan, KidZania Singapore, KidZania Malaysia and KidZania Philippines assisted too.

After 10 years of operations, KidZania Jakarta can pride itself as a State that works along with all of their collaborators and Industry Partners in achieving one goal: working and innovating upon supporting children’s learning in Indonesia.

The goal was to gather as much information (good practices, bad practices and new practices) to be able to renew and innovate our brand, moving forward from the KidZania 3.0 version to KidZania 4.0. The years 2016 and 2017 were focused on downloading, analyzing and documenting all this information, so that each expert team could work on redesigning KidZania’s image, experience, technology and key processes, among others. Through a series of conferences, master classes and speeches, our President spoke about big topics on education and learning processes for children, the entrepreneurship spirit behind KidZania and inspiring experiences for students of prestigious business academies around the world.

The University of KidZania spent all 2017 working on developing a new plan to upgrade the educational offer for all KidZania collaborators. The plan for 2018 an onwards is to cement the bases in four main categories: Knowledge, Skills, Personal and Technical abilities. Together, these categories will complete a development cycle that boosts the growth of our collaborators. More than 90 Knowledge courses are available through the University and are assigned

to our collaborators according to their roles and learning paths, and there’s more than 60 other courses being developed to attend the Skills and Personal categories, while the Technical courses can be assigned according to specific job requirements. This ambitious program will benefit our collaborators at Central, State and Metropolitan levels of Government, thus, spreading fundamental knowledge and skills that will be useful in their daily activities.

Since a holistic development is also part of having a healthy lifestyle, “healthtainment” concept, KinesiZ, is moving forward.

These different topics are fundamental for the world, specially for children, KidZania believes that they are the future and the means for a Better World.

Conceived as an outdoors health and family entertainment center, rooted in extreme adventure, KinesiZ, which stands for “movement”, will be a place where extreme sports, sustainability and cutting-edge technology will merge to offer families an alternative to be close to nature, be active and eat healthy.

KidZania Collaborators Reach Great Heights in Mexico Araceli Becerril Ministry of Labor

As part of KidZania´s integration and wellness programs, in 2017 “Kumbre KidZania” was launched. This was a three peak trekking challenge, where 73 collaborators from Mexico State and Central Government, defied their fears and faced different obstacles to reach the heights of three emblematic mountains in Mexico: El Nevado de Toluca, La Malinche and the Iztaccihuatl volcano.

To reach this important goal, KidZania relied on the guide and support of Ponce de Leon Expeditions, commanded by Hector Ponce de Leon, nowadays the best Mexican alpinist, that reached three times the top of the Everest and has been hired by National Geographic as a height cameraman, besides of making his debut in the movie industry with the interesting short film “Ice Calling” about his experience climbing on ice. Ponce de Leon and his team, helped to prepare the participants through specialized training programs

and two previous walks in Mexico City surroundings. This has been the year with the highest participation from KidZania´s collaborators in the traditional annual challenge, and the results make the Nation very proud. Participants had a very enriching experience contemplating four dimensions: mental, physical, emotional and spiritual; that helped them to overcome their own limits, strength their abilities and engage their values with KidZania´s mission.
