20 years ago, KidZania, formerly known as "La Ciudad de los Niños" in Spanish, opened its first edutainment facility at Santa Fe Shopping Center in Mexico City. Its Origins September 1st, 2019. Mexico City, Mexico. The founders of this innovative Mexican concept identified two important aspects: the lack of quality entertainment options for children, and kids’ innate interest for role-playing. The simple, yet powerful idea, of incorporating roleplaying activities at a city designed especially for children that combines learning and fun, became the main pillar of the KidZania Concept.

The first 20 years KidZania has crossed cultures, borders and languages. It currently operates in 22 countries with 29 founded KidZania Cities and 11 more in different stages of development, including Metropolises like: KidZania Amman, KidZania Chicago, KidZania Giza, KidZania Hong Kong, KidZania Johannesburg, KidZania Nagoya, KidZania New York, KidZania Paris, KidZania Riyadh, KidZania Surabaya and KidZania Toronto. KidZania's concept is easy to export since children all over the world love to create, explore and collaborate with others. These common interests are perfectly aligned with our proposal that combines entertainment and learning in equal parts.” And 20 more years to come… Innovation has been a key ingredient of the KidZania concept since its inception, and on the eve of our 20th Anniversary, we are getting

ready to launch new role-playing activities that incorporate the jobs of the future. These new establishments incorporate professions like coding, robotics, animation, drone piloting, astronaut training, augmented and virtual reality. It is estimated that 50% of the jobs that children will perform when they grow-up still don’t exist; however, they can start developing some of the skills they will need in the future through this exciting, fun and educational activities.

Hosted by radio presenter Kris Fade, the foundation ceremony highlighted the contribution of KidZania to develop an authentic entertainment and learning environment for children, families and schools. Special music and dance performances, anthems, flag

raising and the lighting of the Eternal Spirit monument were some of the elements included in this moving and exciting foundation. The ceremony also featured representatives from Emaar Entertainment, Industry Partners and members from several KidZania States and Central Government. The foundation ceremony was followed by the customary ribbon cutting event the subsequent day, where KidZania Abu Dhabi opened its borders to UAE kids and families.

As we look back on the major events of 2019, I want to ZanK every and each one of you for all the achievements accomplished over the past 12 months. December 31st 2019. Mexico City, Mexico. The current international scenario, environmental problems, the inequality that fostered protests in countries like Chile and Hong Kong, but also the technological innovations that took place this year, make our mission to get children ready to create a better world more current than ever. Fostering values, the development of skills and reinforcement of knowledge among kids is extremely relevant, and that is how KidZania can give back. The KidZania Nation reached important milestones like celebrating the 20° anniversary of “La Ciudad de los Niños”, now KidZania Santa Fe, signing Hong Kong and Jordan as our 26th and 27th territories worldwide. KidZania Doha, KidZania Abu Dhabi and KidZania Dallas opened their borders to tourists. Moreover, KidZania Surabaya and KidZania Johannesburg will be founded in the 2020 allowing us to continue being one of the fastest growing edutainment concepts in the world. Also this year, Kinezis our healthertainment concept has found its home in Mundo-E, shopping mall located in the northern part of Mexico City. This project that will mix entertainment and physical activity for children aged 0 to 99 will be tested in Mexico and then exported abroad. 20 years ago, KidZania Santa Fe was our flagship facility, the one that started it all; and now the first Metropolis of our Nation will be the first one to be fully equipped with the KidZania 4.0 model and become a spearhead in terms of innovation for the next 20 years.

Our new “Healthertainment” Project has finally secured a venue in Mexico City! The first Kinezis will be located at Mundo E shopping center, a very well positioned mall at the northwestern part of Mexico City.

This first Kinezis will have a footprint of 5,276 square meters and a total construction area of 12,570 square meters. With four interior levels, Kinezis will go up to a height of 18.5 meters. Kinezis will feature the latest trends in fitness and wellness where technology will assist visitors to have a unique experience. Adrenaline experiences such as rope courses, climbing walls and horizontal ziplines will complement the offer to have an attractive product for visitors from all ages!

When I Grow up… Children from 11 Countries Share their Professional Aspirations L ucero L opez KidZania Census Bureau

Doctor, police and teacher are among children’s top professional choices across 11 countries

18,565 children from 6 to 15 years old who visited 14 KidZania Metropolises between January 2018 and August 2019 were interviewed regarding their professional aspirations. Gender is a determining factor when it comes to choosing a profession, even from a young age.

Cairo, Egypt was the only city where occupations like engineer was included among children’s top 3 preferences. Nonetheless, Moscow in Russia stood out for having a totally different top 3 in comparison to other cities, including professions like pilot, banker and designer.

The top 10 professions in all regions included mostly “traditional” professions like police officer, teacher, veterinarian, and soccer player; while doctor was the most mentioned choice across countries.

Children’s answers were also analyzed by age and gender, showing only significant differences by the latter. This difference reveals a very interesting finding: children develop gender stereotypes from a young age and maintain them as they grow up.

Family violence, environmental problems and poverty are among the top 3 concerns for children in Latin America, Africa, Europe and Asia; according to research conducted by KidZania

Children voice their concern about global issues Through the KCB Tool, more than 15,000 boys and girls from 6 to 14 years old, who visited KidZania in Bangkok, Cairo, Cuicuilco, Guadalajara, Istanbul, Kuala Lumpur, Monterrey, Mumbai, New Delhi NCR, San Jose, Santa Fe, Sao Paulo, Santiago and Singapore, were interviewed

regarding their awareness of global problems that might affect children. Only 43% of the interviewees acknowledged the existence of issues that may have an impact on them. When analyzed by age, this percentage increased among older children; probably due to a greater exposure to external factors, like media. Aw a r e n e ss a b o u t wo r ld issues across cities was quite uneven. While children in the Americas registered an awareness between 55% and 70%, only 6% of kids in Bangkok acknowledged that there are problems that might affect them.

In order to improve and enhance the experience of CitiZens and their parents inside and outside KidZania, a new B-KidZanian CMS platform was launched in KidZania Doha, KidZania Abu Dhabi and KidZania Dallas. This new website is already embedded in KidZania’s official site, easing the access to all the information, benefits and fun that CitiZens worldwide might need. As the number of CitiZens increases, KidZania will continue working to offer new surprises and features that can enrich the experience of being official CitiZens of the funniest Nation around the world.

The birthday kids will live the experience of being models with their friends in the runway, be pampered in a Zpa or in a barbershop, become the champions of the KidZania’s Football World Cup, be the Ztars of an incredible magic show, prepare and decorate their own birthday cake or conduct

awesome experiments as creative scientists. Our new community rooms will allow us to provide our guests a private space to take their lunch and birthday cake. This community rooms will also help us for the Akademy and Summer Camps.

KidZania Webpages Updates In 2019, KidZania reached important achievements in the digitization process that was set a few years ago. The successful migration to the new CMS that several of our franchises implemented in alignment with our Global Website. This new page reflects a novel design and improvements in the ways of presenting information and content for all our stakeholders.

Also, our Global Website now can be consulted in 7 different languages including Arabic, English,

KidZania Hong Kong will have a footprint of 5,424 m2, a total construction area of 10,826 m2, and an estimated annual attendance of 380,000 visitors.

With a total population of over 4 million people, Amman is Jordan’s economic, political and cultural center. Now, this vibrant city will now expand its edutainment offer by hosting one of the most innovative family entertainment centers in the world: KidZania. Edrak for Edutainment Projects Development and Al Adiyat Real Estate Development Company were the partners selected to open the KidZania Metropolis in Amman at Mecca Mall’s newest extension.

This new Metropolis will allow children residing in Amman to enjoy this amazing edutainment concept and discover a wide variety of professions through the magic of role-playing activities. I’m delighted with this partnership and looking forward to collaborate with the team at Mecca Mall.” Moreover, Hernan Barbieri, KidZania's Minister of State, mentioned: “KidZania Amman will be our 9th Metropolis in the Middle East, thus increasing

Paola started her career in La Ciudad de los Niños (LCDLN) in 2000, where she stayed for 8 years. She joined the Papalote Museo del Niño and then, in 2011, moved to Transportes LIPU. Since October 2019, she rejoined KidZania as Group Sales Global Director.

Fernando joined KidZania as Minister of Economy (CFO) in August 2019. He has an extensive experience in audit and finance departments in renowned companies like KPMG, Resistol, HAVAS Group, Asdeporte and Cultura Colectiva.

Patricia joined the Nation in 2016 overseeing Marketing for Central Government and this year she joined the Kabinet as Marketing Global Director. She has an extensive experience in the entertainment industry. Her previous collaborations include companies like 20th Century Fox and Nintendo.

KSLP has steadily developed new products to face the increase in product demand at KidZania Shops and National Stores. That’s why, in 2019, KSLP added 95 items to the already existing 120 products in 2018, and a similar number will be included in the 2020 collection.

KidZania Johannesburg is getting ready to open its borders to tourism in 2020. Also known as Jozi, Joburg and Egoli, Johannesburg is the largest city in South Africa, one of the largest urban areas in the world and often described as Africa’s economic powerhouse due its continuously modern and prosperous development.

Improvements and new features will allow us to revamp our concept and reach a broader audience.

KidZania Johannesburg has signed agreements with 24 Industry Partners and will be located at Fourways Mall, expecting an attendance of 430,000 annual visitors. To commemorate its first two decades of operation, KidZania Santa Fe, the facility formerly known as “La Ciudad de los Niños” that started it all in 1999, temporarily closed its doors in May to undergo a significant remodeling process to incorporate all the innovations encompassed in KidZania 4.0; model rooted in our interest in remaining current and relevant, through innovation and quality.

Improvements and new features will allow us to revamp our concept, reach a broader audience, and enrich the KidZania experience for our visitors and collaborators in the upcoming years. Some of these improvements include: · New role-playing establishments · Improved party rooms · Brand-new software · Better accesibility · Advanced lighting · Expanded Back of House

Everyone had the chance to reunite and celebrate with their coworkers and together remember the milestones KidZania has reached over the years. A lot of hugs, laughs and good memories were mixed with a delicious buffet that included dishes from the different regions where KidZania operates.

All of this wouldn´t be possible without our collaborator’s engagement and due to their commitment with our vision and essence. In order to ZanK them and to celebrate together the amazing path we have been walking along for 20 years, we had an incredible party on August 31st.

KidZania Cuicuilco received 500 hundred current and former collaborators, whose contribution has helped to build KidZania and make it a great Nation. Rooted in a “KidZania around the World” concept, we received our guests with international cocktails and a great photo opportunity w i t h cos tume s fro m different countries.

University of KidZania focuses on fulfilling its main objective of guaranteeing the acquisition of knowledge and skills of all collaborators. The University of KidZania is evolving with the business and has begun the digitalization of the learning process. The first step is focused on assuring that the knowledge acquired by all collaborators throughout our nation is unified. Therefore, today Big screens around the facility allowed us to see pictures from our 20-year history. After that, everyone enjoyed a fun and upbeat concert at the stadium, where we all danced and sang, and the good energy exploded. From that moment on, it was all smiles.

KidZania's basic courses are in an e-learning modality encouraging self-learning. With this on mind, the University will continue developing e-learning courses and exchanging the knowledge.

A n o t he r a d va n t a g e i s that learning experience generated by the University will be more effective because the face-to-face sessions will focus on specific work processes for each position, taking greater advantage of the interaction of the Students and our Faculty. This learning experience will help develop better professionals, who can generate KidZania-oriented strategies that will support its continuous evolution and improvement.

KidZania Collaborates with OECD Patricia Velasco Ministry of Communications

KidZania partnered with the Organization for Economic Cooperation and Development (OECD) as part of the “NiñaSTEM Pueden” (STEM Girls Can) initiative.

To better understand children’s perceptions about the world of work and money, KidZania conducted its annual CongreZZ with kids between 7 and 12 years old.

Through the initiative “Inspiring Remarkable Futures”, KidZania allied with World Vision.

This CongreZZ edition conducted in KidZania Cuicuilco, KidZania Delhi NCR, KidZania Dubai, KidZania Kuala Lumpur, KidZania Monterrey, KidZania Mumbai, KidZania Santa Fe and KidZania Singapore focused on learning about children’s general understanding of financial knowledge and the world of work.

This global NGO works towards attaining that children in Mexico live free of poverty, while inspiring kids to become responsible and committed members of their communities. KidZania and World Vision hosted a special event at KidZania Cuicuilco to raise funds to bring water to deprived communities in

Through the role-playing activity of “Support Agency for Children”, children who visit KidZania Sao Paulo get a glimpse of the outstanding work that UNICEF conducts in Brazil. As J u a n I g n a c i o C a l v o , C h i e f Resource Mobilization & Partnerships of UNICEF Brazil, mentioned: “Together we have developed a space tailored-made to showcase UNICEF’s work. This experience has been positive for both children and adults, and through this activity we have been able to add hundreds of people to our program in Brazil: “Friends of Children UNICEF”.

Children aged 7 to 12 from Kuala Lumpur, Singapore, Mexico City, Monterrey, Dubai, Delhi and Mumbai participated at KidZania’s CongreZZ 2018 and shared their opinions regarding the world of work, as well as the use and value of money. The way children in different countries establish their relationship with money is mostly defined by their age and life stage. As children grow up money stops being perceived as an abstraction and becomes something tangible. Children aged 9 to 12 start noticing the role that money plays in social dynamics, and collateral topics that may be related to it. Children are fully aware of the role that money may have in a society. However, since this is an abstract concept for them, their first approach to money is practical; when they see someone use it. In overall, children (generation Z) confront their financial reality. However, they perceive the financial world as a complex social construction. Nonetheless, it was identified that those kids that are in touch with money have a more ‘controlled’ mindset in financial terms.

Highlighting the importance of getting to know children, and taking learning outside the four walls of a traditional classroom. KidZania is a firm believer in the pedagogical approach of experiencebased learning.

As it has been mentioned before, “Children can only aspire to what they know exists”, thus, it is extremely relevant to expose kids to a variety of experiences since a young age, no matter if they attend a public or a private school.

Managing money helps them develop attitudes like: -Recognizing the value of earning ‘their money’ by working -Having a clearer idea of what to do with the money they own -Trying to make "better purchases-expenditures" -Avoid making excessive expenses -Expressing a greater security and confidence when discussing their savings Also, it was identified that this phenomenon could also be reinforced when children interact with a representation of money, as in the case of kidZos at KidZania. The confidence gained by being in control of their earnings makes children more familiar with the management, abstraction, and planning they can translate into their real-world experience.
