The most exciting moment of the night was when KidZania Moscow established a live streaming connection with the Russian cosmonauts orbiting around planet Earth on board of the International Space Station. Their congratulatory message thrilled all attendees and marked the precise moment when KidZania Moscow’s Eternal Spirit was lit with lasers.
KidZania Singapore joins hands with kids to build a better world
The world witnessed the foundation of KidZania Busan, KidZania’s 22nd global metropolis and second in Korea. Operated by MBC PlayBe! – the 7th subsidiary of Munhwa Broadcasting Corporation–, and located on the 4th floor of the Shinsegae Centum City mall, KidZania Busan offers more than 60 different role-playing activities for Korean children living in the Yongnam area. The experience and knowledge accumulated over the past six years of operations of KidZania Seoul translated into an upgraded version of the KidZania experience offered in KidZania Busan. One of the most eye-catching points
of KidZania Busan is that it has new and unique establishments such as: a Race Track, a Sports Broadcasting Center, a Korean Medicine Clinic, a Poster Design Studio, as well as a Boating School where children can experience being a racer, sports broadcaster, baseball player, Korean medicine specialist, movie actor, or boat navigator.

KidZania Delhi NCR opened its doors to tourists, becoming the 24th location of the edutainment nation and the second in India, after its sister city KidZania Mumbai. The excitement started last night, at the protocolary Foundation Ceremony of KidZania Delhi NCR, in which India’s Government Officials, Industry Partners’ representatives, celebrities and KidZania Kabinet members, Central and State Government officials, friends and family bore witness the lighting of the 24th Eternal Spirit of the edutainment nation phenomenon. The edutainment company held the protocolary Foundation Ceremony of KidZania Singapore, lighting the Eternal Spirit at the Central Plaza and officially becoming the 23rd metropolis of the ever-growing kids’ nation. Diplomats, government officials, representatives of different KidZania States, friends and family, all witnessed the vibrant ceremony, followed by a cocktail party that turned the city into a massive dance floor. This morning, at the official opening day ceremony, KidZania Singapore signed a Memorandum of Understanding with the Singapore Workforce Development Authority (WDA)
Furthermore, KidZania Busan enhanced its activities by improving and adding new content from KidZania Seoul. For instance, KidZania Seoul and KidZania Busan both offer the popular Crew Training Facility, while KidZania Busan added a new activity: the Emergency Evacuation Training, which adds to the existing pilot experience in KidZania Seoul.

KidZania Conferences KidZania in the Media during 2016 PRESIDENCY OF KIDZANIA
KidZania gained a lot of attention in the media, thanks to their impressive growth and activities across many territories in America, Africa, Asia, Europe and the Middle East. Nikkei Asian Review published in April 2016 a piece called “KidZania pushes an Asia-first investment strategy”, where they highlighted the success of KidZania in the continent, with 10 facilities operating in the region, and the plan to develop new franchises in the future. They quote Mr. Xavier Lopez in regards of the Asia-first strategy, “If something is successful in Tokyo, then you can expand to the rest of Asia. Is the same with Dubai in the Middle East”. Likewise, BBC gives a deep insight on KidZania’s success story and Mr. Xavier Lopez career in “The entrepreneur who made millions putting kids to work”, where they analyze KidZania’s concept and explain the goals of

As KidZania’s concept and business is growing fast in the world, and given its succesful story and uniqueness, executives from KidZania are regularly invited to speak in a wide array of congresses, conferences and events, where people is eager to get a deeper knowledge about KidZania. Among the most important keynote participations in 2016 were:

• Kids@Play – CES 2016
Mr. Xavier Lopez was invited for a session at Kids At Play Summit 2016, an event that is parallel for the popular Consumer Electronics Show in Las Vegas, where organizers, speakers and attendees analyze the impact of new technologies in children’s education and entertainment. With “Building a Smarter World” as main principle for this event, Mr. Lopez presented “Move Over, Chuck E. Cheese”, where he explained the characteristics that make KidZania a concept really unique in its type.
The official recap by the event says about this keynote: “KidZania paves the way to a new type of play experience for digital natives”, highlighting the high value that experiential learning has in the education of children.

In November 10, Mr. Xavier Lopez was invited to Dubai to conduct a session called “Sector Insight – Tourism: Capitalising on the Potential”, where the President of KidZania provided perspectives on that potential and took part in an open and interactive discussion with the attendees.This important Forum also served as a powerful reinforcement of the growing relationships between Mexico and the Middle East, where KidZania leads the pack of Mexican companies with presence in the region.
• World Marketing Summit - Japan
Philip Kotler hosted this Summit in Tokyo, and Mr. Xavier Lopez was invited to be part of a round table discussion called Engagement/ Experiential Learning, where Mr. Lopez discussed the learnings of KidZania from an experiential approach, alongside Yasuyuki Tanabe (Country Brand Marketing Manager for AirBnB Japan), Junichiro Kurokawa (Managing Director for Accenture Digital in Japan) and V. Kumar (Distinguished Chair Professor of Marketing in Georgia State University). This visit to Tokyo also included a very special meeting for Mr. Lopez with Tadahiro Yoshida, Chairman and CEO of YKK, in a brief but valuable session organized by Kellogg Club Japan (an association that subscribes former students of Kellogg School in Northwestern University, Chicago). Philip Kotler was a teacher for both Mr. Lopez and Yoshida.

RightZKeepers had been working in a secret project that is coming to life in 2017: KidZania Music will be a hit with 7 songs that can be heard in every KidZania facility. These brand new songs will represent each of the RightZKeepers personality, and 2 more songs will reflect the values and the spirit of KidZania. Uplifting and playful beats are part of the sounds of KidZania, with
genres that go along with the likes of our RightZKeepers: Beebop sings a happy-punk song, and Vita harmonizes over an acoustic melody to give that feeling that suits her style. The rest of the RightZKeepers will have their own song too. These songs will be delivered to all KidZania’s facilities during 2017, and we know for sure that they will be a great hit among the audience, when they also find the songs available for distribution over major digital platforms.

Awards achiveved during 2016 This year, KidZania was recognized throughout the world for its exemplary service, business initiatives, quality and performance. Here are some of the accolades the company received during 2016: • National Quality Award
On February 17, KidZania was recognized for the second time in a row with Mexico’s National Quality Award in the Corporate Innovation category. This certification is the maximum distinction given by the Government of Mexico to companies that have become national references in terms of quality, innovation and competitiveness. The ceremony was led by Mr Enrique Peña Nieto, President of Mexico, at the Adolfo López Mateos conference hall of Los Pinos Official Residence— the official residence and office of the President of Mexico. During the 26th edition of the awards, 14 organizations in 7 categories were recognized. “Being recognized with the National Quality Award allows KidZania to take Mexico to the big leagues, setting the bar high not only for other Mexican companies, but also in other parts of the world. I want to ZanK all of our 9,000+ collaborators across the world for believing in our concept and contributing to our growth with their everyday effort, commitment and passion”, said Xavier López Ancona, President of KidZania. U of K keeps working for a better world!
UNIVERSITY OF KIDZANIA The main educational institution of our nation, continued its great work at spreading knowledge during 2016 with sessions for a total of 39 collaborators from 8 different States (including India, Indonesia, Mexico, Qatar, Russia, Singapore, South Africa and UK) whom were received by the University of KidZania (U of K) at Central Government (CG) to obtain the appropriate training for each of their positions, including collaborators from KSLP. U of K also took part in the K.I.T.E. Program and Certification of KidZania Moscow, KidZania Busan, KidZania Singapore and KidZania Delhi.
The team grew as well, as U of K welcomed Romina Hernández (previously at KidZania Cuicuilco) into the team, and Marusha Ruiz was promoted to Talent Learning Jr. Associate in recognition of her high performance. An important milestone for The University of KidZania was the incorporation of CG Collaborators into U of K’s learning programs, with a view for everyone to complete a learning path that allows them to have a better understanding of all business areas of the company. Getting a stronger team was also an important achievement for this institution, by
certifying the first batch of U of K Professors as part of a strategy that seeks to develop instructional skills in collaborators who participate in their learning programs. This strategy was reinforced when KidZania Cairo opened the first U of K’s local campus
under KidZania’s Training Model for its Zupervisors and Coordinators. The rest of KidZania’s facilities will integrate into this process during 2017, aiming to provide more guidance about delivering training locally to said collaborators.

From October 7th to November 2nd this season was focused on enjoying spooky and thrilling activities, with live spooky tales, a trail for trick or treat, pumpkin carving, costume contests and adult nights. Also this celebration extended a little more in Mexico to celebrate the famous 'Dia de Muertos' on November 1st and 2nd.

From November 25th to January 1st, this season was the time to reflect on who we are and who we have become, celebrating precious moments experienced in 2016, and the hope of what 2017 will bring.
• New Beginnings
KIDZANIA Central Government
From January 15th to February 7th, KidZania took part in welcoming the "Chinese Year of the Monkey", highlighting and promoting the characteristics of the monkey, which are creative, joyful and optimistic.
Is there a better way to Zaz! KidZania visitors than offering new things periodically? With the Variable Program, KidZania is always shifting its thematical activities, aiming to surprise with new things every time children visit their local Metropolises. In 2016 children from around the world enjoyed 8 different programs.

The year started with an amazing contest, where visitors had the oportunity to promote their expression through a showcase of their talents and skills. This event was held from January 8th up to March 13th 2016.

Representatives of KidZania States and Metropolises gathered together this week in the Rosewood Hotel in San Miguel de Allende to attend the annual Zummit conference. Visitors from all over the world met at the KidZania Central Government headquarters early on December 5th to travel by coach from Mexico City to beautiful San Miguel de Allende. This year, the conference was entitled “KidZania 4.0”, and started with a keynote presentation by Mr Xavier Lopez introducing all attendees to the company’s 4.0 vision and business strategies for the upcoming years. During his participation, the President of KidZania also introduced “KinesiZ”, a new health & adventure entertainment concept that the company plans to launch in Mexico City soon. The first day of meetings ended with a “Callejoneada”, a tradition within the Mexico State of Guanajuato, where people walk through the streets and are joined by a traditional music band that plays along as the crowd sings and walks around the picturesque town.

KidZania is always looking for new ways to expand the reach of the Nation, and KidZania Go! is an itinerant version of KidZania’s facilities, that can travel easily to smaller cities that aren’t able to establish as a new Metropolis. In 2016, KidZania Go! visited, Acapulco, Villahermosa and Cancún in Mexico, as well as Caixal in Portugal, Muntinlupa in Manila and Cibubur in Indonesia.
Among the conditions required to open a KidZania Go!, is necessary to have an area of at least 2,000 sqm in order to install the establishments and activities that are really popular for the visitors of KidZania’s facilities, such as the Fire Station, Bank, Driving School, Pizza Restaurant, and many more. About this project, Maricruz Arrubarrena said, “with KidZania Go! we take the KidZania experience to different cities so more children in Mexico can enjoy the diverse activities of education an entertainment that allow them to develop their abilities, and in this way they can acquire values and knowledge through role playing”, and this concept applies to other KidZania Go! iterations around the world.

Make-A-Wish and KidZania Help Ricardo's Wish Come True! MEXICO CITY, Mexico September 9, 2016 KidZania, one of the fastest growing kid’s hands-on entertainment brands in the world joined efforts with Make-A-Wish Foundation for a very special mission: granting a life-changing wish for a little kid. Ricardo (6) suffered burns in 80% of his body due to a terrible accident, and he always wanted to see
the sea, so the wish was made in 2 stages, Wish Journey and Wish Granted.
Wish Journey: this was the great build up for the wish. Ricardo loves fish, so he was invited to watch Finding Dory, and then he went to Inbursa Aquarium, the biggest aquarium in Mexico, where he was able to enjoy watching many species of fish and crustaceans. Later on, Ricardo got the chance to take swimming classes and then received a very special travel kit.
The experience went on by taking Ricardo to El Rollo an aquatic theme park, then Ricardo visited KidZania Cuicuilco, where he was able to make use of the flight
simulators and really feel like a pilot, just days before visiting the hangars of Mexico City International Airport and meet professional pilots and seat on the cockpit of a real plane. Then, the day arrived, Ricardo’s Wish Granted came in form of a very special trip to Cancun, Mexico, where he finally got to see the sea for the very first time, as well as visiting Xcaret and Xel-Ha, and swimming along with dolphins and stingrays. Make-A-Wish and KidZania are certain that this experience will become a turning point in Ricardo’s life, giving him hope and encouragement to keep going through.
KidZania’s CongreZZ works for a better Community KidZania CongreZZ Since its inception in KidZania Santa Fe back in 2008, the KidZania CongreZZ is now working at 12 facilities in 9 States, with a total of 204 CongreZZ KidZ, being Manila its most recent addition as their CongreZZ was founded in 2016.
Although some KidZanians join their CongreZZ through a registration and interviewing process, other States like Manila, Kuwait and Kuala Lumpur elect their CongreZZ with videos submitted by their CitiZens and a voting process, much like a real election that ends with a gala to celebrate the new elected KidZ.

Attendees from 30 countries participated in education sessions, networking opportunities, and guided tours of some of the area’s most popular attractions. The conference began with a keynote presentation by Enrique Ramirez Magaña, owner of Cinépolis, the largest cineplex chain in Latin America and the fourth largest in the world. Ramirez talked about how Cinépolis has evolved and helped to lead the revolution of the movie-going experience with the introduction of a VIP experience with seat selection, stadium seating, a wide variety of food and beverage options, and lounge seating with call buttons for service.
Following the keynote address, attendees participated in education breakout sessions centered on excelling by evolving. KidZania Participates in the 2016 Monterrey Triathlon!

As part of KidZania’s integration and health programs, a group of 24 representatives of the Central Government of KidZania and KidZania Mexico participated in the International G3 Monterrey Triathlon, at the Parque Fundidora. Some of the participants this year also took part in the 2015 Cozumel triathlon, as well as new collaborators that decided to join for the first time in this life-
changing experience. All of them prepared for 4 months through daily high performance training, and practice events. KidZania hired EnduranceMX professionals to help prepare the participants through individual training programs, special diets and performance check-ups. All the participants finished the competition, even obtaining the third place in the female sprint category, proving that hard work, commitment, training and long months of preparation were worth the effort. Urbano takes KidZania to the top of the world!
KATHMANDU, Nepal May 20, 2016
Urbano, one of KidZania’s beloved RightZKeepers, joined the May 2016 Mount Everest Expedition on a breathtaking adventure that only someone with his passion and courage could undertake. After an 8-month long preparation with highly experienced mountaineers, Urbano landed in Kathmandu and joined the experts from around the world to conquer the Earth’s highest mountain—sometimes referred to as the “Top of the World”. At 8,848 meters (29,029 ft) above sea level, the peak is located in the Mahalangur mountain range in Nepal and Tibet. The expedition’s first attempt to reach the summit started very
early this morning. Climbing the Everest is no easy task, as it presents dangers such as altitude sickness, weather, wind as well as significant objective hazards from avalanches and the Khumbu Icefall. Although very good weather conditions were predicted for this morning, unfortunately Urbano suffered from altitude sickness and had to abort the attempt, having to return to the Base Camp. However, he gave the KidZania flag to the expedition leader, promising to take it all the way to the top. Later this day, the expedition team sent pictures, proving that KidZania has conquered not only all regions of the world, but also its highest point: Mount Everest.
