The design theory of the office space is Prospect and Refuge. To achieve this, the core concepts are to promote a collaborative environment while also lending towards a mentally positive work setting. These concepts are achieved by incorporating an open workspace for Entry Level and Resource Level employees. The desk proximity and island-style layout allow workers to communicate with one another and share ideas. In addition, collaborative pods are placed in select locations for small groups or team meetings, aiding productivity through cooperation.

In contrast, curved walls and individual working sections are placed throughout, creating an area of refuge or privacy. Many walls and corners in shared spaces and along main circulation paths feature curvilinear forms and rounded corners. These shapes promote a sense of calm and tranquility for the workers (Cox, 2019). Shared spaces and enclosed offices utilize glass panels and windows, allowing for natural light and keeping the body’s inner clock in tune while also reducing stress and aiding in productivity (Boubekri et al., 2014)
