Obituaries Bernard William Dutka Bernard William Dutka, 89, died Saturday, Jan. 29, 2022. The funeral will be from the Thiele-Reid Family Funeral Home, 585 Belgrove Drive, Kearny, on Wednesday, Feb. 2 at 9 a.m. A funeral Mass will be celebrate at St. Cecilia Church, Kearny, at 10 a.m. Interment will follow in Holy Cross Cemetery, North Arlington. Relatives and friends are invited to visit with the family at the funeral home on Tuesday, Feb. 1, from 3 to 5 p.m. Born in Jersey City, Mr. Dutka was a lifelong Kearny resident. Bernard served in the U.S. Army from 1958 until 1960. He was employed as a messenger for Valley National Bank in Kearny for 10 years before retiring. Prior, he was and agent for the IRS in Newark, for 15 years and before that he was a tool maker for RCA in Harrison.
Mr. Dutka was a member of the National Association of Retired Federal Employees. He is survived by his sister, Emily Sawyer. Bernard was predeceased by his parents Charles and Antoinette (nee Zarnowski) Dutka, one brother Charles Dutka Jr. and brother-in-law Ronald Sawyer.
