HUMANS OF KENSINGTON Francis Batalla, Network Systems Specialist,
Isabella Powers, Development & Special Events Coordinator,
Information Technology Services “Working in IT, I’m able to see how Kensington operates cohesively as a whole, as well as seeing the uniqueness of each entity – It makes me proud to be part of Kensington. In my spare time I enjoy snowboarding, tennis, reading, and practicing guitar.”
“I first started working in development and fundraising in art museums in Australia and the US, and Kensington is my first foray into the health sector. In my free time I love reading, playing soccer, biking, traveling, and visiting my family in Minneapolis, and am greatly interested in politics and art.”
“I have always worked in health care support services. My experience ranges from acute care to children rehabilitation. Kensington Gardens is my first experience in long-term care and I think that it’s the perfect fit.”
“I came to Canada from Jamaica in September 2016, and one month later I started working at Kensington Health. I love to play cricket, soccer, and I enjoy interacting with others. One of my favourite things to do is singing. I really enjoy the ‘oldies’ and soul music. One of my favourite songs right now is Whitney Houston’s ‘I Have Nothing.’”
I’m a creative soul at heart. I have an appreciation for arts and culture. I really enjoy taking-in the different cultures within Toronto, their music and food. “
“ I’ve been working with the older adult
population for almost five years. I chose to work in long-term care because it is an effective way to learn from residents’ life experience as they have lived full and fascinating lives.”

“Food is one of my passions and hobbies. I’m a foodie. I make weekly menus at home for my family. I would never trade Toronto and its multiculturalism for anywhere else in the world. My favourite place to go is the St. Lawrence Market.”
Marlisa Budihardjo, RPN,
I love to stay active. Through my work, I’ve seen a lot of preventative diseases that could have been avoided with regular physical activity. It made me more aware of my well-being, while understanding the importance of taking care of my health. In addition to biking to work every day, I’ve recently taken up a new hobby, kick-boxing.”
Andrew joined the Kensington Health family in September last year. What he enjoys most about his work is how central the quality assurance component is to the well-functioning of Eye Bank operations. The staff at the Eye Bank are what keeps him excited and energized to come to work each day, they’re not just colleagues but friends. Andrew Milroy, Quality Coordinator, Eye Bank
Andrew is also a member of Rotary International and serves as Service Director for his Rotary Club. A fun fact is that he is a huge Leafs fan.
