What is active Learning?

Active Learning is student-centered.

The instructor creates the environment and students engage and collaborate within it (Hyun et al., 2017).

Students take in information and ideas (Passive Learning) while doing and observing and engaging in reflective dialogue with themselves and others (Fink, 2003).

Strategies for active learning The most effective types of learning activities include activities from all three components of active learning: information and ideas, experience, and reflective dialogue.

Activities may include: Debating Case studies Games Graphing Role play Quizzing Polling Writing Journaling Talking
