Class of 2018: GHS grad works through loss to excel By Robert Lowell GORHAM — "Amazing student" Saoirse Herlihy will be missing her father when she walks across the stage to receive her Gorham High School diploma in June graduation exercises. Saoirse Herlihy's father passed away a week into her freshman year. Her mother, Kerry Herlihy, a high school English teacher and this year's graduating class advisor, will be on stage to greet her. "I shall present her diploma," her mother said. "It will certainly be emotional." Saoirse Herlihy will be one of about 208 Gorham graduates in exercises at 4 p.m. Sunday, June 10, at Merrill Auditorium in Portland. WESTBROOK — How to manage downtown parking is always tricky for municipalities and Westbrook is no exception. The city underwent a comprehensive look at parking, including analyzing inventory and future demand, in 2006, but now a dozen years later, parking is again a focus. "We put some recommendations in place, but there were as many that we didn't put into place," City Administrator Jerre Bryant said during a committee of a whole meeting on the topic of parking May 21.
