What is heart valve repair?

The heart pumps to receive and send blood to all parts of the body.

There are valves like the tricuspid valve, aortic valve, and mitral valve that can effectively perform this procedure.
When there is a problem with these valves, the patient might experience breathing problems, swelling of the legs and hands, and more.
Earlier, mechanical valves were the only treatment for these valve problems. But with the advancement in medical technologies, now it is possible to repair the existing problematic valves if the valve anatomy of the patient permits it.
When the patient chooses mechanical valve placement, he/she has to take medications for their lifetime to make the valve work properly. But with valve repair, there is no need to take these medications.
