From a dazzling mural at Canvas to silly Bingle Sêr medleys, here is a recap on Kasteel’s arts this year!

With the theme, 'Pieces Coming Together', our creative Kasteel ladies captured this through a remarkable Canvas that portrayed the battles fought between different pieces of oneself, landing us in 2nd place.

A first year’s concert that kept the crowd on the edge of their seats had all the awards rolling in – 1st place for the own composition, 3rd place for the choir, 3rd place for the singing and a 3rd place overall.

Bingle Sêr, an explosion of harmonies and humour, was loads of fun alongside our sleep, Soetdorings, with the theme being the popular board game, 30 Seconds. Kasteel’s first ever Gwijo group gave a soulful performance and placed 2nd overall!

Koue Pizza was Kasteel’s stellar theatre production directed by Kasteel’s own, Lente Treurnich. Koue Pizza explores the lives of 4 university students who work part-time as waitresses, 3 of the friends harboured a secret, and as the story unfolded, the friend in the dark brought it all into the light.

Our audacious debate teams landed an overall 3rd place amongst the ladies, with Ciska Raubenheimer being the 2nd best Afrikaans speaker.

With a 5th place amongst the ladies’ residences, an overall 5th place at Sêr nationals and additionally winning the Crowd Favourite award, the fabulous Sêr ladies kept Kasteel’s name high.

Whether you have the voice of an angel, or one that can talk any ear off, arts remains where Kasteel ladies sparkle most!
