SRCS
By Eliske van Vuuren
Catherine Duvenage, the SRCS HC member for 2023/2024, had a vision for making a real difference, and she delivered beyond all expectations.
For the past few years, Kasteel was responsible for a small school in Ikageng called "The Rising of the Future," aiming to bring joy, resources, and life skills to its learners.
Watching Catherine help these kids was so inspiring! She poured her heart and soul into every project, truly making a lasting impact on these children’s lives.
From the bus tours at the beginning of the year to teaching essential life skills, her efforts went far beyond just ticking boxes. She truly transformed her role as HC member into a mission of love and service.
Her commitment was so impactful that the goals set for "The Rising of the Future" project have been fully achieved. How absolutely amazing is that!? The school is now equipped with the tools and resources they need to thrive. They are empowered to the extent that they no longer have to depend on outside resources to thrive.
Catherine also excelled at Barefoot Day and Canned Food Day, ultimately getting second place OVERALL at the end of the year! Thank you to every person in the SRCS committee who helped her achieve this milestone.
As we look ahead to 2025, SRCS is excited to embark on a journey with a new project, continuing the tradition of making a difference in people’s lives. We can’t wait to see what the new project holds…
SRCS is always a powerful reminder that while helping one person may not change the entire world, it can transform the world for one person.
Catherine’s legacy at Kasteel proves that with passion and purpose, even the smallest acts of kindness can create waves of change.
