Letter from Mr Tom

By Nkosinathi Tom

Dear Kasteel Ladies and Friends

As we plan to close the 2024 academic year, it is with pride and gratitude that I reflect on the inspiring journey we have shared this year.

We collectively managed to create a community that embodies strength in diversity, unity in purpose and excellence in all our endeavours.

When reflecting on our journey since the beginning of this year, I was reminded of the words of Bishop Desmond Tutu, who said “My humanity is bound up in yours, for we can only be human together.”

I am confident that the words resonate deeply with what Kasteel stands for; a place where each individual’s uniqueness adds to the collective strength of our residence, harnessing the spirit of mutual respect, collaboration and sisterhood.

To every resident, staff member, friend and family of Kasteel, I offer my sincere gratitude for your contributions.

Whether through academic achievements, leadership, acts of kindness or any type of support; each of you has played an important role in making Kasteel a home where memories are made, dreams are pursued and lives are enriched.

As we look forward to the future, may we continue to embrace the power in our diversity and build a vibrant and sustainable residence. Let us carry forward the spirit of camaraderie that has been the hallmark of this year. And as we do, let us remember the wisdom of an African proverb, “If you want to go fast, go alone. If you want to go far, go together.

Cheers to going far together in the years to come.

Warm regards

Mr. Nkosinathi Tom
