House Of Vegan PH - Your Healthy Food Buddy, For A Healthier Lifestyle
This story is about Ms. Eika Alfonso, the CEO and founder of House of Vegan, a vegan business that offers delicious and healthy food options to people looking for a healthier lifestyle. Eika’s inspiration for starting the business came from a challenging time in her life when she was a single mother struggling to make ends meet after graduating from college and going through a tough break-up with her daughter’s father. Her elder brother Miguel, who has been living a meat-free lifestyle for over 15 years, encouraged her to explore her passions and try a raw vegan diet after she was hospitalized with dengue fever in 2016.
“My brother asked me, “What do you want to do with your life?” - and I spoke out loud what a small voice in my head had been saying: “business,” - she shared.
Her experience with the vegan diet made her realize the potential of veganism to help people in various ways, including fitness and health. This led to the idea of House of Vegan, a vegan business that emulates the taste of meat-based food, which began to take shape in her mind in 2018.
Eika faced several challenges in starting her business, including financial constraints, lack of experience in running a business, and the need to learn new skills.
“It wasn’t easy since I was the only one doing everything that included answering all customer inquiries. It was a good thing that eventually my co-owners, Nico Solis & Mikhee Samonte, went into the picture, and the rest is history,” - she added.
However, she persevered and was able
to launch House of Vegan. To develop House of Vegan’s business plan, Eika and her co-owners, Nico Solis and Mikhee Samonte, carefully considered several factors essential to creating a successful and sustainable vegan food business.
They recognized the importance of appealing to a wider audience beyond just vegans by creating a diverse menu that caters to different tastes and preferences. Their products are also made to look and taste like meat while remaining 100% plant-based, which helps them attract those who may not be accustomed to eating vegetables or those seeking healthier food options.
Additionally, they conducted market research to identify market demand, com-
also factored in during the development of their business plan. They are committed to maintaining affordable pricing without compromising the quality of their products, making plant-based food accessible to everyone.
And just recently, they organized their 2nd Charity program events where they fed over 200 people, 100 kids w/ disability and 100 guardians. Aside from their deliciously healthy food, they also gave Noche Buena packages for the guardians and also toys for the kids.
Eika’s passion for veganism and the desire to create a business that aligns with her values led to the birth of House of Vegan. Her journey taught her that with determination and perseverance, she could overcome any obstacle that comes her way. She hopes that House of Vegan will be a bridge for her to continue being of service to other people, raise awareness about veganism, and conduct charitable events.

This story is about Mrs. Diana Bernal, the woman behind MissD’s Sweet Cravings, who has come a long way since starting her business in 2016.
It all began when her brother, who was on vacation from his Air Force duty, introduced her to a “leche flan” and “ube halaya” factory that he had visited. Intrigued by the number of buyers and sellers that frequented the factory and store, She did her research and found that there were plenty of leche flan sellers in Rizal, but none quite like the one her brother had proposed.
With the help of her brother, sister-inlaw, husband, and parents, who acted as her primary financier, she began her journey as an entrepreneur. Her parents, who were “Jacks of all trades’ ‘ during her childhood, taught her how to pack and sell various items, and even entered distributorship deals with big brands like Nike, Mondragon, and Avon.
According to Diana, her initial goal was to earn extra income, as her basic salary from her previous job was not enough to support her third child’s skin maintenance medication. Selling anything online that would give her a profit was her way of making ends meet. Over time, Diana found motivation and focus through customer feedback, both positive and negative.
She became determined to learn how to attract customers and capture the market. Her main purpose in starting her business was to help small online sellers who had no means of going directly to the factory, as it could be inconvenient, especially without their own vehicle.
To solve this problem, she franchised
an online delivery service that gave her a cashback for her delivery business, offsetting the costs of pick-up services. As a BPO employee back then,
and with children to attend to, managing her time and budget was a challenge for Diana. She implemented cut-off dates for orders to ease the burden of managing her
business and her family responsibilities.
Her leche flan and ube halaya are now some of the smoothest and creamiest in town, machine-manufactured and properly sealed. Diana takes pride in being one of the main distributors of leche flan and ube halaya in her town and several municipalities. As a successful
entrepreneur, Diana advises other start-up entrepreneurs, especially women, to find their passion and purpose, be confident in their business, and not be intimidated by their competitors. With determination and perseverance, anyone can achieve their dreams of becoming a successful business owner.
Mary Joy Galicia’s journey as an entrepreneur is a story of perseverance and determination. She may have started out as an employee of the Municipality office in Tanza, but her passion for business eventually led her to start her own cafe called Cold Brew Tea in 2020.
At first, Mary Joy had two business partners, but they eventually withdrew, leaving her to run the business all alone. It was a tough situation to be in, as she had to handle all aspects of the business by herself, including finances, marketing, and operations.
“Mahirap maging business partner ang kaibigan or someone na hindi mo pa asawa. Kaya advice ko is dapat yung magiging business partner mo is yung someone na never mag-wwithdraw or aalis no matter what,” - she said.
The first few months of Cold Brew Tea were particularly difficult, as the business
generated low sales, and most of the expenses were being funded from Mary Joy’s own pocket. But Mary Joy refused to give up. She continued to manage the business alone, calling suppliers, enhancing the location, and doing everything she could to attract more customers.
“Ang hirap din kasi wala talagang kinikita yung shop noon, rent, expenses, kuryente ng shop, ako ng ako lang talaga yung naglalabas ng naglalabas,” - she added.
And slowly but surely, her hard work began to pay off. Cold Brew Tea became one of the to-go spots in Tanza, not just for its delicious drinks and snacks, but also for its warm and welcoming atmosphere. Mary Joy’s cafe became a popular hangout spot for youths, and even became her friends, colleagues, and churchmates’ hang out space.
However, even as the business started to grow and thrive, Mary Joy faced her greatest challenge yet. She felt alone, and it was not easy to find trustworthy employees who could generate sales effectively. There were times when she felt like giving up, but she always reminded herself of why she started the business in the first place, and of the people who believed in her.
Mary Joy’s greatest advice to fellow women entrepreneurs is to never give up, always innovate, and look for the positive side. She believes that having a mentor is crucial not just for personal and spiritual growth, but also for career advancement. And with her own experience as an entrepreneur, Mary Joy is proof that with hard work, determination, and a little bit of faith, anyone can achieve their dreams.
Looking forward to the future, Mary Joy shared that she will continuously thrive her business, provide quality customer services and delicious foods and drinks to her customers for them to feel that their money is worth spending at her shop. On top of that, she’s also looking forward to rebranding her business name into a more unique and purposeful brand.
Alot of people have been switching to their essential shift. From the traditional grocery, people nowadays are getting the convenience of buying their groceries even at the comfort of their home.
In this story, a women entrepreneur, a mom, and a “wais at madiskarteng misis” shared us her fulfilling role as the owner behind the VENICE Sari-Suki Online Grocery Store, introducing Mrs. Mary Joy D. Fabrigas, a 25 years old woman entrepreneur of Biñan Laguna.
Started by her great dream to be a successful entrepreneur, she started her entrepreneurial journey by researching relevant and trendy business this 2023. According to her, while browsing the web, she noticed on Youtube about the SARISUKI business application where you can earn even at the comfort of your home. What’s more amusing is that she shared that this type of business doesn’t require you to provide capital to start up this business.
Mary Joy is a wife and a mom of a 2 year old baby girl named Venice. According to her, her great inspiration by starting up her online grocery store is because she is eager to provide a great future for her daughter, and of course, to help her husband save up for their future too.
On top of that, she also shared that those people who became successful in their chosen industries was one of her inspirations for her to start up her own business as well. Starting up a business may not be an easy ladder to success, but for her, in order to succeed in your venture, you must exert effort to learn about your industry, and learn how the business flows.
“Umattend ako sa mga trainings, webinars, inaral ko talaga ng maigi bago ko sinimulan mag-sign up sa app na to. And through consistency, tiyaga tiyaga lang din, naging community leader na ako sa lugar namin,” - she said.
As amusing as it may sound, she is not an exception to entrepreneurial struggles. According to her, despite her experience and knowledge in the world of online selling, starting up and managing her start-up online grocery gave her a lot of challenges.
“Naging challenging sakin itong online grocery, kasi hindi ko mostly on hand ang mga products na nasa app, at maraming categories na pwedeng pag-pilian ang mga suki ko. Kumbaga, kumpleto na sya dun sa app, yung mga pang-araw araw na kailangan. Saka dito sa lugar namin, wala akong masyadong kakilala at halos malapit lag ang supermarket dito at mga tindahan,” - she added.
Given the challenges, she didn’t let it stop nor bother her in managing her business. She started venturing her grocery store by introducing it to her closest friends,
acquaintances, and family relatives. She consistently keeps posting details and marketing campaigns pertaining to her online grocery store, including reviews and legitimate transactions to build people’s trust.
On top of that, she also managed to join several facebook groups and shared about her online grocery. According to her, “consistency is the key.” She kept posting everyday online, on her feed, on facebook groups, until people became interested in her business.
“Ang strategies ko ay, may mga tindahan dito samin malapit na pwede kong bentahan ng wholesale price,at mga kapitbahay namin na merong kids and nag wowork binibentahan ko ng mga pambaon like frozen or ready to cooked,” - she said.
Now, she is proud to say that her VENICE Sari-suki online grocery store is popularly known not only within the city of Biñan, but to several parts of Cavite, and Las piñas too. But wait, there’s more. She also built loyal customers from Saudi and Dubai!
“meron din akong suki sa saudi at dubai, yung mga suki kong nasa ibang bansa umuorder sila sakin ng groceries para sa pamilya nila dito sa pilipinas which is dito lang din sa area namin nakatira. At pag dumadating na sa akin ang groceries nila chinicheck ko ang mga items kung kumpleto o may mga damage at pagkatapos idedeliver ko na sa mga suki ko,” - She shared.
As her online grocery grew, her consistency in providing excellent customer service and quality goods to her customers became her habit now. She said that in order to do that, she kept on developing her business
plan through strategic management, and overseeing the things that she needed to improve for her business to thrive.
She makes sure that her business is unique, and gives hassle free convenience for all of her customers.
“hindi na sila lalabas ng bahay para pumunta ng supermarket o pipila ng pagkahaba haba, less sa pamasahe at gas, then pagdating ng delivery days idedeliver ko na lang sa kanila door to door at maganda pa rito ay lowest price but highest quality, especially sa mga fruits and vegetables always fresh,” - she added.
Her VENICE Sari-suki Online Grocery store gives a lot of life comfort and opportunities not only for her, but for her family too. Having such a type of business truly gives her the quality time freedom she needs while still earning figures. She even mentioned that her self motivation is to keep being positive, always train your mind to see the good in every situation. Life may not always be easy, but with dedication, hard work, and consistency on what you love, we will eventually be successful on our chosen path.
