icons Karin van der Molen
icons Icons is a series of portraits that I have made in 2014. I asked friends and strangers to lie down or stand in the halo that I found appropriate for them. After a few moments the person inside the halo became silent and lost his or her wall of defense. That’s when the picture was taken. Icons are sometimes called windows to eternity, because they show a little piece of heaven. The icon is said to be a passage through which humans can connect to an invisible place where the universe will reveal itself.
