KEEP UP WITH THE TIMES Last week’s most read stories

1. High school senior re-makes grandmother’s dress for prom: A Mora teenager is revitalizing a family heirloom just in time for prom, honoring a special connection between her and her grandmother. The Moes had the dress altered, adding a laced back to the dress, making it more easily adjustable to size. Other than that, the dress is largely unchanged. Grandma Max will be able to watch Annelise walk at prom’s Grand March on Saturday. 2. Woman charged in the death of her baby: Sara Marie Declusin, age 28, was charged with second degree manslaughter and endangering a child after her five-month-old baby died while in her care. 3. Ogilvie considers giving up portions of Rutherford Street: The City of Ogilvie is considering vacating a portion of its right-of-way on Rutherford Street north of Tower Park. The proposal is a result of conversations between the city and the owners of Federated Co-Op and Ogilvie Mini Storage when discussing costs and options to repairing Rutherford Street. 2022

Scholarship Recipients Thank you for your support of Mora Dollars for Scholars!

Congratulations to the Mora High School Graduating Class of 2022! Through our donors’ generous support, 38 seniors received Mora Dollars for Scholars scholarships this year. Among these scholarships, four are 4-year renewable and three are 2-year renewable. Each scholarship dollar amount is $1,400. This year, through the generosity of our community members, we were able to award several new scholarships. The Mora Chapter of Dollars for Scholars has been awarding scholarships to Mora High School seniors since 1989. In the past 33 years, Mora Dollars for Scholars has awarded 1167 scholarships totaling $1,485,050. The support and generosity of Mora citizens, alumni and businesses have allowed Mora Dollars for Scholars to give scholarships to help fund Mora high school students with the cost of higher education. Students who receive these scholarships are selected based on a combination of seven factors: their grade point average, work experience, community and school involvement, essays regarding goals and unusual circumstances, and references. Thank you for your generous donations and continued support! Contributions may be made at any time and are tax-deductible. Donations may be mailed to Mora Dollars for Scholars, Box 422, Mora MN 55051 or completed online at: www.mora.dollarsforscholars.org

THANK YOU! To all of our wonderful donors! *Indicates donations of $100 or more
