We’ve had a great few weeks in Year 2, filled with exciting activities and continued learning. Recently, we went on a trip to the Łódź Zoo, which gave us a fun opportunity to explore and learn about animals. We also took part in Sports Day, where everyone showed great energy and team spirit. At the moment, we are preparing for International Day by researching facts about China. In English, we’ve been working on writing factual reports about Chinese landmarks and natural features. In maths, we've been learning how to interpret and present data through statistics, and in science, we’ve explored different types of forces.
As the school year comes to a close, I’d like to say thank you to all the Year 2 children. You’ve worked hard throughout the year, and I’m very proud of everything you’ve achieved. I wish you all the best in your next chapter. Well done!
Kind Regards,
Ms Monika Drozd

We are reaching the end of Year 3. After our assessments we are looking at the gaps in our learning and revising topics from across the year such as addition and subtraction techniques and use of fractions in maths and grammar in English.
In our topic work we have been looking at Space and all the wonderful celestial objects in our Solar system. We have been learning about the phases of the moon and the different planets, the length of their days and years as well as how gravity enables them to orbit the sun.

It has overall been a fantastic year. I have really enjoyed teaching each and every student in the class. I would like to express my gratitude to everyone who’s been a part of the Year 3 community this year!

Mind Matters: Tips & Insights from the School Psychologist
Mind Matters: End-of-Year Reflections
As we come to the end of another vibrant school year, it’s the perfect time to reflect on the emotional and social learning journeys we’ve taken together through Mind Matters. This year, the newsletter has touched on a range of important topics from managing anxiety and navigating friendships, to building emotional resilience and supporting children through change. Each article has aimed to give you practical insights and strategies to support your child’s well-being, while also strengthening the bridge between home and school.
This year has been full of purposeful activities designed to promote a positive, inclusive, and emotionally safe school culture. Our AntiBullying Week was a particular highlight. Students and staff alike engaged in meaningful discussions and creative projects under the theme "Dare to Care " Through assemblies, classroom conversations, and peer-led initiatives, we saw students develop greater awareness of the impact of their words and actions, and demonstrate genuine commitment to standing up for one another
Mental Health Awareness Week also made a powerful impact. We focused on normalising conversations about mental health, identifying emotions, and developing healthy coping strategies. Students took part in mindfulness activities, expressive art projects, and reflective journaling, fostering self-awareness and selfcompassion across all year groups.
In addition to these themed weeks, we’ve run a series of preventative workshops on core social-emotional values such as Empathy, Collaboration, and Kindness.
These sessions encouraged students to step into each other’s shoes, resolve conflicts peacefully, and recognise the power of kind words and small acts of inclusion. We’ve seen a marked improvement in peer relationships and a growing culture of emotional accountability across the school community
At the heart of all this work is a deep belief that well-being is a shared responsibility. As educators and caregivers, we are stronger when we work in partnership When children see the adults in their lives aligned in values and communication, they feel more secure, understood, and empowered to thrive. Your involvement whether through conversations at home, participation in school events, or simply taking the time to read Mind Matters is crucial to the ongoing success of our well-being initiatives.
Thank you for your continued support, your thoughtful feedback, and for trusting us with your children’s emotional and psychological development. As we look ahead to summer and a new school year, let’s continue working together to ensure our students feel seen, supported, and inspired to be the best versions of themselves.
Wishing you and your family a peaceful and restful break,
Jo Monowid School Psychologist Thames British School, Włochy Campus
