Welcome to everyone for today’s home fixture against Congleton Town FC.
Our first team results of late have been generally poor so I’m hoping we can get back to winning ways today against Congleton Town.
Romulus will hopefully take a leaf out of the Congleton Town book and put a string of wins together up until the end of the season.
As a club we have nearly always fought to the end of every season, so it is on the current team to get us up the league table and go into next season with some pride and some positive vibes. We have lots of points to play for and we should be looking to finish as high in the table as possible. We don’t want to look back in the record books and see a low finish in this division and I’m sure the managers and players feel the same way.
I know that everyone is pulling together so let’s hope again that we get 3 points today and Neil and his team can feel satisfied with the results of their hard work.
Other aspects of the club are going well with the academy and club structure improving off the field. We are really growing the youth section of the club from U7 upwards and will have a few new teams joining the Roms brand next season.
Also, Luke as arranged Competitions for 3 weekends in the summer and also Roms soccer Camps for players from Age 4 to Age 12 during the school holidays at Lindridge Road, Sutton Coldfield B75 7HU.
Any parents interested in sending their young children to our camps please text or call Luke on 07552 232783. Day starts at the camps at 9am up to 3pm and all our staff are DBS checked so you can feel safe to leave the children with us in safety.
We have had a few weeks already in the past, so Luke and his staff are proven to provide your child with a great experience so give him a call today.
All the best today to our players, let’s get the points lads!

Welcome to today’s game against the league leaders, Congleton Town FC.
As the season drawers to close, I would like to take this opportunity to thank all of the people behind-the-scenes without them we would not be able to function as a Football club.
There are brighter things on the horizon for this football club, but for the people who give up their time away from their families to help the club progress there are simply not enough words of gratitude, and hopefully next season. We can repay them with a competitive football team.
Recent performances have been mixed against Darlaston you saw the best of us where we won 5-4 in an exciting game. At Whitchurch we had five missing from the Darlaston game, and it cost us as on the day we were second-best all over the park. At Uttoxeter in mid-week we were much better and deserved to win the game but had to settle for a point.
The leaders are in town today and they are top for a reason. I thought when we played at their place, we could’ve nicked a point but there is no doubt they have quality all over the park and today will be a difficult game for us.
Over the last few months as a squad and management team we have had a lot of chats and we are all disappointed with our league position but as a manager I have to look forward and I’m excited to see what some of our young lads will be able to produce next year, having got a year’s experience under their belts.
As the season drawers to a close I’d like to thank everyone for their continued support this season. I look forward to what the future holds for this fantastic football club.
Everyone at Romulus F.C. would like to congratulate Isai Marselia on his first call up to the senior Aruba National Team.
Aruba took on Dominican Republic on the 23rd March 2024. Well done Isai, we are very proud of you, a fantastic achievement.
Sat watching the game on Tuesday, away to Uttoxeter, in the pouring rain, but it was worth it, Neil introduced two very young players and they were outstanding, the boys all played so much better than on the previous Saturday, This week's game will be a big test for our very young team, but they’re all looking to go forward in their careers,
We have all been a bit disappointed this season but I'm sure we are on the way to where we want to be.
Good luck to all our lads and don't forget "it's the last thing you do with the ball counts”.
UTRs Roger
Romulus Sunday was founded in 2020, originally playing in division 3 of the Sutton district league. After being promoted 3 divisions in 3 years, we will this season be competing in the premier division and are hopeful that we can continue to impress and compete in any league.
There is no doubt that the competition we will face this year will be the hardest yet, but with crop of lads that we have, and the environment we have created over the years, we all know that we are more than capable of competing against any Sunday side on our day. Knowing what you can do and actually doing it are two very different things. With arguably the youngest side in the league, consistency is going to be our biggest challenge this year and that’s exactly what will be demanded from everyone involved.
We pride ourselves on giving young lads the opportunity to get valuable experience in men’s football and attempt to create a genuine pathway into first team football for them, wherever that may be. But first and foremost, we make sure that we have a set up in place that allows everyone to enjoy their football. That’s what it will always come down to.
If you’d like to learn more about our Sunday side or register your interest in becoming a part of it, in whatever capacity, please contact georgeevans@romulusacademy.co.uk.
Looking forward to this season, big challenge ahead. UTRs!
On Monday 25th March, we hosted a fantastic trial day for the Romulus Full Time Scholarship Programme, where hopeful attendees looked to book their place on next year’s course.
The trial day ran smoothly with a training session in the morning and then a 11v11 game in the afternoon. There were different levels of talent on show in an end-to-end 11v11 matchup. We are pleased to say that half of the attendees have confirmed their place for next year’s college year.
Keep on eye on our social media pages or website for details on the next trial day. We hope to see those who couldn’t make Mondays session and looking forward to welcoming new faces for the opportunity to join us next year.

With our season coming into the closing stage, it's no BIG secret that Romulus Football Club will be returning to the home of the Royals, Sutton Coldfield F.C. in a groundshare which will revoke many memories for a portion of the Roms supporters. I joined the club 15 years ago and for the majority of my time Coles Lane was the venue for us bringing back many eventful thoughts of Romulus playing football at the highest level in the club's history. For over a decade Roms played out their football in the Northern Premier Division One South & always looked comfortable playing at that level including quite a few moments at the top end with promotion sometimes looking quite possible, but without the cigar.
Some major scalps within non-league were beaten on regular bases with the demolition of Scarborough and also Stafford Rangers being another that struggled on several occasions when they came to face Roms. One match that always had the pulse racing was Sutton Coldfield themselves. Competing at the same level and then having to take on the landlords always added extra spice to the games. From what I recall the meetings were probably around even on results with Romulus having the upper hand in the early days, but the Royals tipping it more their way towards the end. Coming into next season this will obviously not be the case, but our ambition will not rest till we get back up the leagues and that would be a derby for the die-hard fans out there, trust me.
Well as this chapter ends and with it some good times, Romulus looks set to march up the road and begin a new dawn with exciting opportunities which as a club we will look to deliver on and off the field. So, for now enjoy the football and dare to dream the Roms way.
UTR,
Hello everyone, welcome back to the Castle Vale stadium for what promises to be a lively afternoon of football as we fast approach the end of the season. We welcome Congleton Town, who are flying high in the MFL, and their fans. We hope that you will be able to join us in The Boot Inn following the final whistle. We also hope that you will donate to Birmingham Hospice, a very important, very helpful charity that has supported lots of people in our local community.
Last weekend, Roms travelled to Whitchurch for Non-League Day. I was very glad that the game went ahead- it was a long commute and although the weather had impacted on parts of the pitch, it would have been a real problem to have to do the journey all over again in midweek. It was a disappointing result, but the hospitality, as ever, was excellent, and the game illustrated the positive impact a local club, at whatever level of the football pyramid, can have on their community. I wasn’t there for the midweek game, at Uttoxeter (another club with a big travel time!), but I was delighted to read about Roms pulling off an equaliser in injury time- around the same time Jude Bellingham saved England from defeat against Belgium with the last kick of the game! Roms and England both got out of jail on Tuesday night. I hope that Roms can take the fighting spirit into today’s game.
One of our lads is, of course, coming off international duty, Isai Marsilia represented Aruba during the international break. I’m really chuffed for Isai: it follows on from his hat-trick a couple of weeks back in what was an epic game against Darlaston Town that finished 5-4! It’s always nice to see Romulus being represented on the international stage, and I hope Isai had a great time and learned a lot.
Finally, yesterday, we learned of the sad, sudden death of Nick Heath of Boldmere St Michaels. I, along with everyone at Romulus, and in the football community, are thinking of his family, friends and all that knew him through his work at Boldmere.
We hope you enjoy the game.
