CELEBRATING THE GOOD IN ST. PETE BY EMILY ST. CLAIR Now more than ever, the world needs greater optimism, positivity, and resilience. Optimism has been proven to positively impact our health, motivation, outcomes, and performance. There is a certain bravery that comes with a positive outlook; it’s much easier to have a negative attitude and give up. But what if we shifted our focus away from only looking at the problems to focusing on the good? Would we accelerate impact? In our communities? In ourselves? These ideas are what led the Junior League to create International Find The Good Day (FTGD): a day dedicated to finding the good in ourselves, our community, and the world around us. It’s a day to embrace kindness, positivity, and the power of community. It's a day when we come together as change-makers, united in our mission and making a positive impact in the lives of those around us.

On September 14, Junior Leagues across the Association hosted different events and served their community to build awareness and support for all that the Junior League does. The JLSP Events Committee brought FTGD to life with a week-long fundraising campaign and inaugural community event at the Shuffleboard Club. The family-friendly event included a shuffleboard tournament, lawn games, face painting, shopping with Kendra Scott, crafts & activities provided by Kids Create and Kids in the Kitchen Committees, food & drinks, and most of all – a whole lot of fun!
