For the 9th year The Surrey Property Awards will acknowledge and recognise best practice, exceptional service and excellent design across all aspects of the property industry.

The awards provide businesses with a golden opportunity to compete in nine different categories, and on a regional level.

Entry to the awards is free and very easy, and companies of all sizes, from all property disciplines, are invited to participate. Uniquely, the winners of the majority of these awards are chosen not by a judging panel or determined by a written submission, but by votes from the public and industry professionals who have used the services of those listed on the voting website.

The winners will be announced and presented with their trophies at a glittering awards’ ceremony and gala dinner on Thursday 22nd November 2018, at G Live in Guildford, in the company of the very popular TV presenter, Nick Knowles, and the Mayor of Guildford.

Demonstrating great versatility, Nick Knowles is one of the UK’s highest rated TV presenters and a Royal Television Society award-winning writer. He has worked as a journalist and producer in the UK, Australia and America and he released a screenplay and a cookbook in 2016 and an album in 2017.

A popular and charismatic presenter, Nick has hosted a number of prime time quiz shows and currently hosts a popular property build programme, which has huge audience appeal and is considered ‘in a league of its own’ as Nick and his team strive to help families under pressure. His list of successful formats on all channels is extensive, so whether he’s mucking in with the builders or getting suited and booted as a suave TV show host or guest speaker, Nick knows how to keep his audience entertained.

SURREY PROPERTY AWARDS 2018 CATEGORIES 1. BEST ON-LINE AND IN-PRINT MARKETING – JUDGED BY SURREY ADVERTISER

5. BEST PROFESSIONAL PROPERTY SERVICES COMPANY

Open to all companies with a connection to the property industry, to include: Agents, Developers, Interior Designers, suppliers to the Industry e.g. kitchens, bathrooms, Land Agents etc operating in Surrey. This category will be judged, and the trophy presented, by The Surrey Advertiser. The publisher will be looking to identify a business that has demonstrated high levels of creativity in its marketing and has engaged with target audiences across a spectrum of applications, as well as having the most visual appeal.

Seeks to identify a company that has provided exceptional and consistent service and advice to those operating in the property and/or construction industry.

This sector often works discreetly behind the scenes due to the nature of the business. The award aims to recognise the exceptional talent and dedication of groups such as: Solicitors, Architects, Planning Consultants, Engineers, Land & Acquisition Agents etc.

2. BEST INTERIOR DESIGN PROJECT – JUDGED BY SBID (SOCIETY OF BRITISH AND INTERNATIONAL DESIGN) By popular demand, this is a new award for 2018.

This category seeks to find a project where imagination, design flair, creativity, excellent use of materials, and interesting features and furnishings have been used to create spaces that both welcome and wow! This category is not open for on-line voting. To nominate a project or property go to www.surreypropertyawards.co.uk to download the Interior Design Nomination Form. A short list will be presented to SBID for judging and the winning project announced on 22nd November. Closing date for nominations, Friday 19th October 2018.

3. BEST RESIDENTIAL SALES AND/OR LETTINGS AGENT – SPLIT INTO 3 SIZE BANDS This category will be split in order that companies with a single branch office, those with 2-3 branch offices and those with 4+ branch offices in Surrey can compete equally. The public will be voting for the agents they feel have provided best service, advice and marketing across all media disciplines, as well as displaying excellent communication skills with clients throughout the sales, purchase or lettings process.

4. BEST COMMERCIAL AGENT/CHARTERED SURVEYOR This award looks to identity an individual or a business that has demonstrated not just good practice, but also forged excellent partnerships with other industry professionals to enable schemes and projects to culminate in successful deals. This category can include the sale, letting and management of commercial, retail and industrial properties, together with associated professional work.

6. BEST NEW HOMES DEVELOPMENT – SPLIT INTO 2 SIZE BANDS (1-12 PROPERTIES AND 13+) This award strives to identify Surrey’s best new homes developments, where good design and the use of quality materials is evident and has enabled the developments to merge seamlessly with local housing stock. This category is for developments that have wide purchaser appeal and will most likely also include an element of social housing, and where the architect and developer have successfully integrated design and landscaping to ensure cohesion.

7. BEST NEW LUXURY PROPERTY OR CONVERSION A single residence (may be a one-off or part of a larger development) that presents as an inspirational style icon.

This category looks to identify a single property of any size, but with a price point of £1.5m+, where excellent external and internal design is testimony to the vision, skill and perception of the owner/developer/architect.

8. BEST NEW APARTMENT DEVELOPMENT INCLUDING RETIREMENT DEVELOPMENTS This category is open to all types and styles of apartment projects, including retirement developments, and looks to identify the development that not only suits the location, but has also made a positive visual impact through the use of quality materials and interesting elevation treatments. The development should have been designed to suit the purchaser profile and include relevant features such as: parking, lift, landscaped areas and concierge services if appropriate.

9. PROPERTY PROFESSIONAL OF THE YEAR This category focusses on individuals, from the most junior to the most senior. Nominations are invited from both the public and the industry, in order that the award goes to a truly deserving individual who has maintained the utmost professional standards and consistently gone the extra distance to help clients and/or the business achieve their/its objectives. The name and company must both be included and a reason provided when voting.

COMPETITION AND VOTING GUIDELINES

Make sure your company/development is listed on the voting website

Voters should have been in contact in a professional capacity, or used the services of the company or person they are voting for, in the period January 2017 – June 2018. Any media campaigns undertaken during the voting period must be directed only to those who have used the company’s/individual’s services during the stated period.

Please check the website www.surreypropertyawards. co.uk to view the listings and ensure your company, property, development and/or project is listed in the correct category/categories. The website produces weekly reports and votes are randomly checked. Votes that have not been verified are automatically discounted.

The awards are FREE to enter and voting is encouraged through an extensive media and PR campaign. However, to maximise the chance of winning one of the highly sought-after trophies, it is recommended that companies make contact with clients and industry associates with whom they’ve had professional contact during the period January 2017 to June 2018, asking them to register a vote and leave a comment at www.surreypropertyawards.co.uk

In respect of categories 6, 7 and 8, the property or development, or a substantial part of the same, should have been completed in the period from January 2017 to June 2018.

When voting, a valid email address must be submitted.

The system will send an email verification link to that email address. This must be activated for the vote to register. The voting website is a secure site and The Promotional Edge (UK) Ltd will not pass any information to any third party or use it for any other purpose. Any personal data collected during the voting process will be treated in accordance with The Promotional Edge (UK) Ltd’s Privacy Policy which may be viewed at www.thepromotionaledge.co.uk.

All votes and comments must be received before close of business on Friday 2nd November 2018 when the site will close.

Results are filtered and collated by the website and are based on the volume of votes in relation to the category and a rating made for the quality of the comments received.

The Winners Winners will be announced and presented with their trophy at a glittering Awards Ceremony and Gala Dinner on 22nd November 2018 at G Live in Guildford. Please note that winners will not be notified before the event.

After the event, winners will be provided with their individual award presentation photograph, in addition to the 2018 logo, which is permitted for use on all printed and digital media, and corporate stationery. Please note that to comply with Advertising Standards the logo and wording must not be altered in any way. The award winners will also feature in all the post event media coverage, both on-line and in print.
