This is the Young Evaluators 5th piece of commissioned work and their 10th project. Gravesham Access Group is a forum that works with the local community; liaises with local authorities, businesses and service providers to ensure facilities are acceptable to all. The forum raises and reviews accessibility issues and responds to plans and policies being drafted by local authorities. They commissioned this work and findings report that would help them develop a small leaflet or map of the town showing what facilities particular shops and businesses, can offer. Although this project does not formulate part of the expected range of work the Evaluators are usually commissioned to undertake, the group felt strongly about being involved, not only did they want to make a difference to their local community, one member of the group has first hand experience due to their own disability; and so pushed to take on the project, with great support from the rest of the group.
