SANTA (MY HERO) MAKES APPEARANCES AT ART EXHIBITION

BELIEVE IT OR NOT my Covid Hero of the week (December 2020) was my sister’s partner who is Santa. Yep, this is my brother! I’m honored to paint this portrait for him. Because of the pandemic, opportunities in his seasonal work as Santa and otherwise as a musician have been curtailed. However, he has been able to bring joy to children in some altered situations with masks and distance protocols implemented. He serves as Santa at a local mall in Missouri - the children must sit six feet away from his perch on his throne chair, everyone in a mask. Merry Christmas everyone. It was my honor to paint this portrait of my niece nurse Hannah who is serving on the frontlines in an Arizona hospital. She continues to work long shifts serving others. I pray for her and her colleagues and all nurses who risk their lives and give so much of themselves daily. She experienced the helplessness of watching many of her patients die every day. The frontline of this pandemic is horrifying. Please encourage our health care workers by doing whatever you can to keep yourself and your family safe.
