10” x 10” Oil on stretch canvas April 22, 2020 DAY 37 This portrait of courage is my day 37 painting documenting my emotional response through the #Covid19 journey. We isolate at home to reduce the burden on our healthcare system and on those precious souls manning the front line of this pandemic that is gripping the world. I was so emotional about the protests and have such a burden on my heart for our nurses and other healthcare professionals working to save lives and comfort those suffering and dying. I painted this “battled hardened” nurse exhausted and bruised from wearing the N95 face mask in response. Definitely the “face of a hero” .
