Director's Notes Randy Apostle* Director/Writer/Artistic Director Welcome to Jubilations Dinner Theatre. Tonight, we take you all on a trip to Montezuma’s Pueblo Resort in sunny Mexico. There we join Annie and Megan who are taking advantage of a great discounted deal for wedding parties and their guests. Only problem being, neither Annie nor Megan are getting married, nor do they have any real prospects of marrying anytime soon…But they do love a good bargain! They must convince the hotel that Annie has a groom and guests arriving for her big day. Things become further complicated by the arrival of Lillian and Helen who cannot believe their friend ran off to get married without inviting them. Add a rather nervous hotel assistant manager, family squabbles, a flamboyant entertainer and some rumours of strange and scary incidents in Randy Apostle the nearby Mayan ruins and you have…Runaway Bridesmaids! Artistic Director The movie Bridesmaids released in 2011, has been heralded as a r.apostle@celebrations.ca breakthrough film for female driven comedy movies and introduced the Twitter - @RandyApostle world to some very funny characters. I very much enjoyed writing a story with some of those characters in mind and of course adding our own twists and turns. Our music selections are a tribute to some of the great songs heard at wedding dances everywhere. I thank our multi-talented and hilarious cast, our amazing production team, the fantastic staff here at Jubilations including our ever zany additional cast! Many thanks to our General Partners, Janet Cunningham and Doug Stephen. I would also like to acknowledge Canadian Actors Equity Association. Enjoy the show!

Amy Wright – Lillian

Welcome to Montezuma’s Pueblo Resort! Amy is so excited to be joining the Runaway family. She made her first appearance on the Jubilations stage at age 14 as a background dancer for about 15 seconds, and they just couldn’t get rid of her! Amy is from Drayton Valley and graduated from the Augustana Campus of the University of Alberta with a BA in Drama. This is her first Jubilations show, but her third time being a bridesmaid, so she thinks it evens out. A huge shout-out to her family, friends, and the Kevin/Sparky/Kristine trifecta that has always supported her. Amy would like to remind you all that while she may not be the bride, she will accept any and all gifts from the registry. Enjoy the show!

Dan Allen – Pedro

Dan is super excited to be home in Edmonton for yet another Jubilations show! You may remember Dan from last year’s hit Flashdance: an 80’s Flashback playing the acclaimed Angelo Grand-Jete or from the 2015 production of Modern Family Vacation as the loveable Cam. If you’ve been around long enough you may even remember Dan from his first Jubilations show, Flatland Jamboree way back in 1997! Now sit back and enjoy some great music, fabulous food and the hot Mexican sun as we bring you this evening’s performance of Runaway Bridesmaids!

Maggie Paul – Annie

Welcome to the show! Maggie is thrilled to be back on the Jubilations stage for another exciting performance. You might recognize her from her previous role as Frankie/Suzy in Greased 2 or from Bewitching Elvis as one of the co-writers. This French Canadian was part of the wonderful ad-cast team during her studies at the University of Alberta, and is now very thankful to have been given the opportunity to follow her dreams as an actor/writer. Maggie would like to thank the artistic director, Randy Apostle, the entire production team and the talented cast for making these productions so enjoyable, and the ad-cast and management team who strive to make everyone’s night so special. Furthermore, she would like to thank her mother Johane and all her friends for their support and love throughout her journey. And most importantly, she would like to thank all of you for coming tonight and supporting live theatre. Enjoy the show!

Mark Kazakov – Sam

Mark is the newest addition to the Bridesmaids cast and is currently completing his BFA in Drama at the University of Calgary. He also just got back from a year of studying performance abroad in the UK. Mark is a professional stilt performer with Green Fools Theatre, a regular Improviser at Loose Moose Theatre and even a roving clown at the Calgary International Kid’s Festival. Select theatre credits include: Lord of the Flies (Storybook Theatre), Act Without Words I (U of C) and Beauty and the Grinch (Jubilations Junior).

Kim DeLisle – Megan

Hey everyone! Thanks for coming this far down to read about Kim’s life in a paragraph. Kim was born and raised in Calgary, and is an avid traveller. This is her first time on the Jubilations stage, however, she did go up as an understudy for the Jubilations show Flashdance: an 80’s Flashback as Gloria Rhodes. Before this, she travelled to, and sang on the Great Wall of China, competed in international singing competitions, as well as preformed with Mary Poppins on Broadway in New York. Kim has also been in the Summerstock productions: RENT, Guys n’ Dolls, and Hairspray. She wants to thank her beautiful mom Rosealee; for being her number one fan since day 1, making her look good in all of her headshots, and always putting up with her singing in the shower. She would also like thank her few close friends for supporting her journey and pushing her to just keep swimming!! Kim relates to Megan on more levels than one, and hopes you enjoy your time with us at Montezuma’s Pueblo Resort, and remember - don’t drink the tap water! Instagram: k.delisle; SoundCloud: kdelisle

Hanna Skibin – Helen

Hanna is absolutely thrilled to be back for her second show with Jubilations Dinner Theatre in Runaway Bridesmaids! Hanna is a graduate of the Theatre Arts program at Grant MacEwan University here in Edmonton, Alberta. Favorite credits include Rent: The Musical (Mimi), The Rocky Horror Show (Magenta), Catch Me If You Can: The Musical (Carol Strong) and Urinetown: The Musical (Little Becky). Hanna would like to dedicate this show to Keith Ewasiuk and June Skibin. Disfruta el espectáculo (Enjoy the Show)!! For more follow me on Instagram~ hannakate_24

Story

In case you are a new visitor to Jubilations, you may be interested in a little information about our group. Where did Jubilations come from? Although not a new idea, the Jubilations concept is unique in today’s theatre. It combines a three-act musical comedy with a twist and a four-course dinner. We ask our audience to immerse themselves in our world. Whether we’re at an old west saloon or on the bridge of a futuristic starship, we invite the audience to play along by being an actual part of our environment for a few hours. Our goal – fun for the entire family. Our Edmonton location in West Edmonton Mall truly lends itself to this concept. We currently have three dinner theatres in operation: our sister theatre, Celebrations in Winnipeg, Jubilations in Edmonton, Jubilations in Calgary who is also home to “Aussie Rules”, a very exciting rockin’, dueling piano bar. All four of our concepts are proud to come under the umbrella of WOW Hospitality Concepts. Our owners, Janet Cunningham and Doug Stephen would like to welcome you to Jubilations, Edmonton’s most exciting dinner theatre and are pleased to present our current production. So sit back and enjoy a tasty four-course dinner while our cast of characters amuse you with tableside banter.
