Edge Banding Furniture with Wooden Veneer- The Process in brief Wood veneer edge banding is the most common form of edge banding we see around us. This a wood veneer strip that is glued together to the sharp edges of your wooden furniture. How to fix a wood veneer edge banding to your furniture? Adding a veneer wood edge banding to your furniture is very simple. All it takes is a roll of veneer, some simple tools, hot melting adhesive or glue, and adhesive tapes. Not sure how to heat your adhesive? If you are adding an edge banding at home, you can heat your adhesive with a household iron. Veneer edge banding rolls are typically available in 8ft-250ft length and 13/16-2 inch width. In the majority of the cases veneer sheets are large enough. You can buy them and then the fixing process will be as below-

The first step to fixing an edge banding to wooden edges is cleaning the edges with sand paper. You need to smoothen out the plywood edge first. Sand the edges into a smooth round and vacuum the area. Iron the edges of the veneer edge banding to prepare it for the adhesive. Ensure that the veneer does not get scorched. Hold the hot veneer over the glue and press it with a wooden block until the glue binds to it tightly. Once the glue sticks to the veneer, press the edge banding against a solid surface and trim off the edges in thin slices. A utility knife works here. Use a trimmer to slice the shimmed side, such that it presses perfectly against the plywood.
