The offensive line helped propel CD to wards 539 yards, 61 points and a school record. Panorama could not find a way to stop Walker, Scrivner or Boothe. Coach Pedersen was proud of how everyone filled their role this game.

Panorama added one more touchdown off a 29-yard completion. The Cards lead the Panthers 27-13 at half time. The Cardinals maintained control in the second half. Walker gashed the Panthers for 5 rushing touchdowns in the second half, the longest of those touchdowns being 47 and 55 yards. CD had little trouble moving the ball downfield as a team and the defense continued to pressure Panorama.Panorama scored twice, the first com ing off an 86-yard kick return. The sec ond Panther touch down came off a 65yard screen play late in the third quarter. Panorama was held scoreless in the fourth quarter.CD's offense gained a total of 539 yards, a season high. September 11, 2001…it’s been 21 years and the terror and heartache that goes with that day in history still gives me goose bumps. Memorials have been built and a day of remembrance yearly to give tribute to those lost, the fire fighters and NYC police officers that put their lives on the line and the indi vidual citizens that did what they could to as sist. I was in my office at South School when Alta Graham called me to tell me about the twin towers being hit by suicide bombers. It’s a day we will certainly al ways remember as one of the worst terrorist bombings in our lives. God Bless America!
On Wednesday, my cousins and I had a much needed lun cheon get-together in Osceola, Feryl (Sly) Bouchard, Sheryl (Sly) Schmitt of Altoona and Alice (Paist) Matthews of DSM and I laughed and shared for a cou ple of hours. Lou Fry of Osceola joined us as she was a childhood friend of the Sly twins. A great time was shared by all of us. We went on our merry ways know ing that our family con nection is just a little bit stronger.Wewere all sad dened to hear of the sudden passing of a classmate and child

A grandmother was telling her little granddaughter what her own childhood was like. "We used to skate outside on a pond. I had a swing made from a tire; it hung from a tree in our front yard. We rode our pony. We picked wild raspberries in the woods." The little girl was wide-eyed, tak ing this all in. At last she said, "I sure wish I'd gotten to know you sooner!”…later
