A global overview of IOGP (International Association of Oil & Gas Producers) Production Report which is published in June 2019 that has been drawn from 2019 data.

An overall trend shows that Global demand for oil and gas are at their highest levels ever, with dramatic growth upon Africa, Asia Pacifc, the Middle East and the Americas which made up potentially the whole Earth. Regarding of the supply, the Giants, Middle East and the CIS regions remains at the throne. Following the fast track, Africa could gradually be one of the Giants within the decade.

As of the data presented upon the world map, a PI, IOGP Production Indicator which is based upon the global standard, shows a major downfall for a majority of the world whilst the CIS

has maintained a steady number upon the years. Politically speaking in the United States, senates and diplomats calls for concerns over climate change grows hence shifting the perspective of investors against fossil-fuels. Even British Petroleum has publicly announced its shrink upon the business canvas.

On the other hand, industry experts sought this matter upon energy transition isn’t due to environmental impact but how quickly government policies would ban industries from continuing to exploit the reserves. The dilemma would be for the politicians either aiming visions of a greener world of economic for standarming their personal campaign because these reserves are hot printing money.

After four and a half years, the Trans Adriatic Pipeline (TAP) is substantially complete. The TAP will transport natural gas from the giant Shah Deniz II field in the Azerbaijan sector of the Caspian Sea to Europe. The 878 km long pipeline will be connected to the receiving terminal in Southern Italy. Partners in the TAP project include BP, Socar (Azerbaijan’s state oil company), Snam S.p.A. (Italy’s major pipeline operator), Fluxys (an electric utility Belgium company), and Enagás, S.A. (a Spanish energy company). This project addresses concerns that Europe lacked diverse sources of gas interconnections with other producing regions.

This pipeline completion will reduce gas supply dependency from Russia, which accounts for about a third of Europe’s gas supplies. (Sonny)

(MEOR) can be a better option, where natural resources are mainly employed. MEOR is based on biological technology to enhance oil recovery in reservoirs and the concept was found in 1926. There are two key components: microbes and nutrients. The microbes source could be exogenous or indigenous; exogenous microbes are cultivated at the surface, while indigenous bacteria exist natively in reservoirs.

The nutrients source could be in-situ or ex-situ; In-situ nutrients could be residual oil existing in the reservoir, while Ex-situ nutrients commonly use nitrate or molasses mixed in water and injected into reservoirs.

Meanwhile, a competition to realize the SDGs in 2030 is an important agenda to support the industry’s continuous effort to be green. Carrying the ambition of efficiency and cleaner fossil energy for the environment, the International Energy Agency (IEA) held its first summit entitled Clean Energy Transition on 20 July 2020. The meeting, which was attended by more than 80% of representatives consisting of ministers, CEOs, investors, heads of regional development banks, and the UN Secretary-General identified clean energy as the

heart of the COVID-19 recovery, looked for ways to reach a definite peak in global carbon dioxide emissions, and leading the world to a sustainable and resilient recovery. Moreover, the efforts they have made are directing the conversion of coal-fired power plants in Asia to gas, the usage of more pipelines to lower the carbon intensity profile, the reduction of emissions through electrification, and the mission to increase global economic growth by 1.1% per year to save or create 9 million jobs per year. Through this, they seem to make it clear that existing ambitions must be accompanied by real action.

Not only to support their existence, but also to have a real impact on people’s lives despite being hit by various obstacles during a pandemic.

Oil Dilemma The more concerning the world’s health is, but oil industry have always strived upon loopholes and try to configure Earth’s health some other way convincing.

Activists complain and demand the shortening of production rate. But somehow the oil industry kept meeting up to the demand increase every year, although the slow growth. It seems like there’s an endless supply of oil demanding to be harvested even more.

Archandra was the figure behind the negotiations and the success of President Joko Widodo in withdrawing the Masela Block so it was controlled by Indonesia, by deciding that exploration had to be carried out onshore and becoming the owner of a patent on offshore designs in America.
