Bright blue skies were thanked in a prayer by Community Church pastor Fish Robinson. The 1940 bi-plane that was carrying a handful of our nation's greatest heroes also made the list for God's blessing Thursday morning.
The men and women who organize the Ageless Aviation Dreams program accomplished their mission of making the veterans who live at Brookdale of Oxford remember their service, and youth, all at the same time. Darryl Fisher was the man who piloted the plane that was re-built with care in Cleveland. His first mission, back in March of 2011, was held at University-Ox-
ford Airport. Lloyd Smith, a 93-year-old prisoner during World War II, was the veteran who went up for the 2,000th flight. He was joined by five others, Kenneth Morton, Frank Miller, Ernest (Ernie) Aune, Angus L. Emerson III and Bruce Burt. Some served in the U.S. Army, while others were memTURN TO AVIATION PAGE 13
